    Hi girls,

I have been panicking about what music to have as I walk up the aisle because I have just found out that the big pipe organ is broken in my church. We can't really afford a string quartet or a harpist etc. We were told that the church has an pianist who could play the bridal chorus and the wedding march on the big grand piano, but I think that would sound naff. We did think of having a CD playing, but I couldn't think of anything that would be good enough.

But yesterday I had a brainwave! We were in the car when The Ramones came on the radio singing 'Baby I Love You'. I love that song! I have looked into it on the internet and it is not as uncommon as I had originally thought. But it is not so obvious that people will think that it is a bit cheesy. I think it will be well cute walking down the aisle to that!

During the signing of the register we will have Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D Major - we had to squeeze that in somewhere! I will need to think of another couple of back-up songs in case the signing of the register takes longer than expected. Any ideas of songs that will flow nicely after Canon? Something classical and baroque?

We will hopefully walk back down the aisle to 'Happy Heart' by Andy Williams. I really want that one, but my fiancé is unsure.

    The hymns I like are:
    How Great Thou Art
    Be Thou My Vision
    Seek Ye First (Hallelujah)
Give Me Joy In My Heart

To name but a few... We haven't decided which of them we definitely want though.

All I need now is the church to confirm approval of the songs.

Have you asked the church if they plan on loaning another organ while the large one is out of service? Our church has a Schulze organ, fantastic sound, but it broke down a few months ago and wont be fixed for another few weeks yet. We were also worried about the piano sounded a bit awful but then they got another organ in on loan from another church so we were saved in the end lol :)

The organ that my church has is an enormous built in one, with the pipes from floor to ceiling! It has been broken for years and they have no plans to get it fixed or replace it with a smaller one. There is a tiny electric organ, but I think it would just sound naff. Can you imagine a tiny electric organ playing in the corner while 100+ people sing along to it?! LOL
