    Evening ladies!

By the end of next week, we will hopefully have ticked the last of our 'big three' off the list - in other words, I emailed our chosen photographer to tell her that we'd love to book her for our wedding! Once that is all signed and deposit paid, I will breathing a sigh of relief.

Thing is, that now I have to think of all the little things. And I don't know where to start or how to go about it. So a little advice would be much appreciated from you fabulous lot!

    - Florist: can't decide whether to go for real or fake. I also have no real idea on what to expect price wise. I'm in two minds about having flowers as centre pieces, so at the moment, all I'm after is four small bouquets (one for me and three for my bms). And button holes for the boys. Any rough estimations on cost would be great, just so I can adjust my expectations (and budget!) accordingly...

    - Transport: I really like the idea of having a black cab as a wedding car. But I am yet to come across a transport company at a wedding fair who have a black cab on their books. I had a little search online tonight and found one company that I've contacted, but have no idea if they're reputable. Any suggestions for wedding car hire companies in the London area who have black cabs would be fab :-)

    - Stationery: One of my bms is a graphic designer and I've already asked her to help me design our invitations etc and she was up for the challenge (of working with my indecisiveness lol) which is great! However, I have no flippin' clue what I want. I like such a mishmash of styles that all conflict with each other that it doesn't help. Also, I'm still stuck on our overall theme, so can't even narrow it down that way. Argh!

    - Dress: don't get me started. I found 2 dresses. But I can't find anywhere that stocks either of them, so can't try either of them on without buying them and having them delivered to then return them if I don't like. Have slowly come to realise that I'm not mentally designed for the whole wedding dress thing lol. (Funny seen as dresses are to me what handbags and shoes are to other women...)

Sorry, this turned into a little moan about my incapabilities to make any decisions lol. Also, now that I've written it all down, it doesn't seem that long, just feels that way in my head!! And apologies if this post is a bit all over the place - I thought it was best to write everything in one bulk plea for help instead of lots of little posts full my own self-pity lol.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions on the above!!

    xx

Oh dear, I don't think I can help you much, but for the invitations, I would just type it into a search engine and flick through as many pics as possible so you get an idea of styles you like??

have you got pictures of the dress we are pretty good on here at identifying and find dresses lol
as florist, try not to stress to much at the minute i haven't decide either and have quotes for both its hard to give estimation on costs because it depends on the style and type of flowers. i have chosen roses and an hand tied posy for me iand s quoted at £65 and £45 for my bridesmaid that was fresh for artificial it was £45 for mine and £25 to £30 for bridesmaids but can get them cheaper on the bay.

have no clue on your transport i guess your going to have to use a search engine and word of mouth

get these into order, first you need to sort out your theme or style for the wedding, this could be as simple as a colour, then this should give you a start point for your staitionary. You need to get this designed soon so that they can be made in plenty of time to be sent out. (trust me it takes longer then you think!! im still doing mine!!)
Then work on the dress. Stop searching the web and just go to a shop and try on a whole bunch. You need to find the style that you want first and then if you dont find THE ONE at least you will have better idea and can then have the confidence to search the web and even buy.
Then do the car and the flowers. as for cost of these it all depends on what you want and where you are getting married.
    Good luck planning hun
    xx

    Thanks ladies!

    Re the dress:

I'm going for a knee-length dress which makes it rather hard to find wedding dress shops that stock more than one. I also don't want a strapless dress as I feel uncomfortable in them, so I've narrowed down the choice quite significantly lol. The two I have found - one is from Monsoon, but it's literally impossible to find a branch that stocks it. I emailed their customer service and they said they can't tell me where it's stocked. I work near the Oxford Street branch and have been going in there once a week to see if they have it - no luck. They did have it, but not in my size, so was hard to tell if I liked it in the flesh or not lol. The other dress is by an American designer whose website does list stockists, but when I look on the individual wedding dress shops or enquire, they don't stock that particular dress. I have found it site that does replica dresses, but obviously if I did order it and didn't suit it, the returns policy isn't exactly clear! I emailed and asked them and got the most unhelpful response.

    Trust me to be difficult!

I've got one colour sorted (purple), but I'm torn between adding sunflowers or daisies (or gerberas) to the mix. I can't make my mind up lol. I have ideas for both and seen examples of both working really well. At the moment I'm feeling daisies more as my original colour scheme was purple and ivory anyway, so it's not that big a difference. I kind of quite like adding a rustic feel to the wedding too. But I don't know if it will go with our venue, which is quite modern. I've seen some really simple stationery that would go with this, but then the next second I'll see some really modern city-chic style stationery and will start oohing and aahing over it! I need someone to pressure me into a decision and then I'll make it lol.

    xx
