There I said it, it's been suprisingly hard to admit it to myself, but I really don't like the experience. :-( I've been looking forward to dress shopping since I was little, the whole trying on loads of dresses and feeling wonderful and excited about gettting married, but in reality I can't stand it, I just feel so foolish and stupid. I don't think it's the fault of the shops, the staff have been pleasant enough (although getting thrown out of the last shop after only trying on 2 dresses instead of the 4 I'd picked out grated a bit!) I just think after setting my heart on saving money by getting an internet dress, I'm not really supposed to be wasting their time by trying on dresses I don't really have any intention of buying. But I'm too afraid of buying an interenet dress now after trying on some dresses like the ones I'd discarded as "nothing special", which were actually really nice on, and some I thought I'd love, but weren't as good as I thought.
Gaaaaaaah. Sorry for the whinge. I just feel cheated out of what I thought the dress shopping experience would be like. Anyone else feel a bit deflated about dress shopping?

Yes I feel exactly the same as I'm stood there with my mum and bm, I say I feel like a idiot haha they go oh no I shud feel like a princess and be enjoying my self, its alright I do in away enjoy the dresses but no I feel stupid wearing them and embarrassed, I am buying an internet dress, no way do I feel right spending so much money on a dress I'm going to wear once, my sil2b has just received hers ad it was exactly as she was told it would be, so I have no worries about it now x

Where did your sil2b get hers then Tinkerbell? There seem to be so many, it's confusing! I think I know how you feel Emma, though I've only been once and it was because h2b's sis was getting hers for her wedding in june, and she booked me an appointment after her just for fun. I think that's why it felt weird, like I was gatecrashing her experience, even though she booked it for me as a surprise! Plus my mum wasn't there, just the bride, her sister the other BM and their mum, so that made it weird too, I always imagined my mum being with me!

I was sick to the back teeth of trying dresses on, to the point I stopped taken people with me. I felt they were all samey even though different, plus there was always something I didnt like.... I'm glad dressing shopping is done now x

It was just a site for cheap wedding dresses from China or somewhere like that, she received it Monday said it was perfect, except she choose champaign instead of ivory and now wished she had ivory, I did tell her but she didn't listen, I was with her when she bought the dress online and we checked the reviews, I said if it does come and it is rubbish at least its only £100sh she's lost, same goes for me I'm paying for the dress roughly £100sh so I think its worth the risk xx

Yeah I agree it's worth the risk for that amount of money - not that I have the odd hundred to throw around, but if it works out then it's a huge saving.

Well I haven't either but my mums good with tailoring stuff so if there's anything wrong fingers crossed there isn't and nothing major she said that she will sort it out, but sil2b has got cash to throw about, alright for some mind haha

I was sick to the teeth with trying on wedding dresses i didnt even want to go to the appoitments! I only tryed on 17 dresses before i found 'the one'! I hated every moment at one point i said to my h2b 'Why cant you go and buy the dress heres my size off you go!x

I did suggest to h2b that he have a look online at dresses he thought I'd look nice in and give me a shortlist to save time...he hasn't taken me up on it yet though, strangely enough.

i hate clothes shopping full stop and dreaded the whole thing, but in the first shop it wasnt to painful lol, but in the second shop i got my sister whos the same shape as me but abit smaller tried them on for me and i found the one ; D its pefect for me in every way and as i was driving to the shops i told my sister in the car what i really wanted and i said i didnt think the dress in my head existed in RL but it did ; ) guess i was lucky

I know exacrtly how you feel.... always dreamt of wedding dress shopping and in reality it is different. I was getting hot being stuffed into different dresses, everyone ooooing and ahhhing over the dress, the assistant huffing as i couldn't decide and in reality it is one dress that you wear once then goes in the loft so i will be looking on the internet for mine too !! xx
