Well - after a very stressful weekend involving my cousin's girlfriend meeting up with me to find out all the info on when/where i wanted to have my wedding and then running out the NEXT DAY and booking the venue and date I had said I wanted (!!!!!) I have found an even better place :) oooh I am in love!! I refuse to tell my cousin though until theirs is officially paid for and set in stone, incase they steal it haha!!
I haven't booked mine or even have a date yet, as I have to choose another one now! But feels amazing to finally have my heart set on somewhere!!

Glad u found ' the venue' and I can't believe ur cousin how out of order! And good on u not telling her. Ur cousin sounds like my brother Gf and she would book everything I won't if my brother would marry her lol so I have to be very careful what I let her know. Hope u find a good date hun x

thanks ladies :) I rang the venue today and would you believe - its already booked for my new date! :( grrr Feel a bit like all of my plans have now gone down the pan again, as I have to be very choosy with date due to my mum being a teach in Scotland, so it needs to be when she can be off work for a few days before and after. And seeing as summer is now out of the question due to stupid horrible cousin and his gf, I am limited to one other day which I have provisionally reserved pending a deposit, but I am worried that October will be cold and really disappoint me.
I feel like after being on such a high over the weekend and knowing what i wanted, when etc and knowing I would only have 18 months to go that its being pushed back AGAIN because of HER(!) (Yes, I know this second venue being booked too is not her fault lol)
sorry, needed to vent about it :(

Went to a wedding in October and it was lovely, lots of sun. I hope those people who provisionally booked decide to back out. fingers crossed :)

Im glad you have found your venue :)
Just like samantha said you can have some lovely weather in October, and you can get some really nice pictures :)
Cant wait until I become Mrs K

Yeah, I suppose with the leaves falling it could be nice - its more that I have to wait longer (lol) although, I think its more that I have been forced to move mine to dates I am unsure of...
Suppose, the weather in the UK is so unpredictable it could be warmer in october than the summer!!
CommentAuthorMrsK2b
Sometimes It is nicer to wait. we are getting married on the 28th September and this is one of the many reasons why we chose this time of the year because of the trees and the colour of everything.
Does your new venue have nice garden or grounds that you can have your pictures taken as this is the perfect time of year to go and take a few pictures to see what it will look like.

MrsK2B, no it doesn't have any gardens but the view over the river tyne is amazing, especially at night when all of the bridges are lit up! I am hoping that the church's garden will be nice in October though.
CommentAuthorlizzylou
Don't apologise! Vent away! that is super annoying. I'm sure the garden will look lovely in the autumn with all the leaves changing, it's just be slightly different to what you originally thought - but different is often good! xxx

October has been nice last few years so I am sure it will be fine you have just as much chance of rain in august these days. My h2b is Scottish and all his family live up there. We have a few teachers coming too so decided to have the wedding September weekend as the Friday and the Monday are bank holidays in Scotland, also as it isn't a bh in England you don't have the big price increase xx

I am just being mardy as I feel like every time I get my heart set on something for the wedding, something else gets in the way and I am disappointed again! I know October can be nice, but just look at all the fog and rain we have had and are having! If it is foggy and glum then the stunning views that are 90% of the reason I love the venue will be ruined!
GAH. calm down Crawf, its not the end of the word lol

I am sure it will be fine. I can understand your frustration. If I were you I would come up with some horrendous themes and centre piece ideas that your cousins gf can steal as she clearly has no mind to think for herself x
CommentAuthorSam
It's better to get your frustration out here then ending up letting it out on your h2b

Tori, i LOVE your post!!!

Glad you have found somewhere lovely. You need to chuck some red-rerrings your cousins gf's way, pick some horrid theme and see if she copies, pick a yukky dress and she'll probably do the same. You could have loads of fun with it xx
