I found a lump in my left breast on Sunday & went to the doctors today. I had a lump back in may but it was trapped milk from breastfeeding my daughter. I was fully expecting him to say the same thing again but he said he felt what seemed to be a blocked tube again but that he also felt a "knot" next to it. I was gobsmacked to say the least, he has referred me to the hospital and said he hopes that they will be able to get me in before christmas. I just came home & cried. I have so many thoughts running thru my head. I know that if it something it would have been caught early...but all I can think is will I be around to see my little angel grow up. Stupid I know but it's there.

My mum has had a few lumps and they're thankfully all benine but it doesn't make it any easy. Take each day as it comes and dont stress out or you will make yourself ill - also tell the people you need to don't keep it to yourself or you will do the above. Hope it is just a blocked milk duct take care xxxx

The positive thing here is that you will be seen very quickly. You will probably have 2 scans, an ultrasound one and a mammogram. The images are seen straight away and you know the results within a few days. The likehood of it being something sinister is small but never the less it is still very worrying.I used to work in that field so I promise the staff will answer all questions you have and you will be treated/diagnosed quickly. Keep your spirits up and Im sending you a big hug xx

hhun please dont worry ........about 17yrs ago i found a lump and was told it was prob a blocked milk duct .......it never went away and when i was brave enough to get it looked at it turned out to be a mass of cells ......nothing bad at all , i was offered removeal but choose to keep it so that i could detect any changes ...last year i was called for a mamagram and again all the fears surfaced .....Had the lump changed ?why did they call me ? did they know something i didnt?
in fact it was a trail where they were looking at younger women and doing mamagrams ...i memtioned the lumo and they checked it again and i got
THE ALL CLEAR

so stop imagining the worst

I know its easier said than done but try not to worry as the thoughts in your head will escalate it 100 times worse than what it is i went through the same summer last year and after 2 mammograms and having my bits squeezed in to the thing lol it was all ok and just a swollen nymph gland

I went in at 9.15 & was out by 10am. It was trapped fluid. Thank god! They asked if I wanted it drained but thought tat time could be used on other ladies. There was a girl in there only about 14 I couldn't believe it... Hope she was ok too.

Phew! What a relief - sounds like the same thing my lump was - I decided not to have it drained either. So glad you were able to find out before Xmas :-)

Then i shouted at H2B to hurry up cuz i didnt want to be late but he knew to ignore me as it was cuz i was so nervous. What does it feel like if you dont mind me askin? Yeay :) Glad it was only fluid. There are so many different causes of breast lumps - only the minority are anything nasty but obviously they have to rule nastiness out. Stay positive girls and keep feeling your boobs! x
