H2B is organising our honeymoon. I don't know where we are going or anything about it, he will tell me after we are married.

The thing is, each of our families have offered to pay for something. So far his parents are giving us £2500 towards the venue, my mum is paying for our cake, my auntie is paying for the invites, my uncle is giving us money toward the venue and my bridesmaids have offered to pay for their own dresses.

Was speaking to my granda the other day and he said he would like to pay for our honeymoon. Well I was shocked but really greatful untill......he said I was just to tell him the date I would like to leave and he will sort the rest. Now I don't want to sound ungrateful but noooooo! H2B has his wee heart set on doing it all! Its the one thing he wants to pay for and organise on his own :(

would I be a total biatch if I explained to my granda H2B wants to do it and ask if he will pay for the photographer? We have found our photographer and hes costing £795, minus the £100 deposit my granda would only have £695 to pay which is a hell of a lot less than a honeymoon and if he wants to help out more I could ask him to pay for my dress which is around £300? I feel bad because he was so excited telling me he wanted to pay for the honeymoon :(

I agree with mrshall2b im sure if you tell your granda that h2b has his heart set on doin this one thing for you then he wont mind i think it romantic that h2b wants to surprise you with it and im sure that your granda will be happy to help anyway xx

I will go see him tomorrow and ask him :) I just feel really guilty lol

oh I'm actually getting scared about Jamie planning the honeymoon lol All I ask of him is that he tells me what clothes I have to pack, he books it at least 3 days after the wedding and we aren't away for any longer than 7 nights because I'm not taking my son. I find it hard not seeing him for 24 hours never mind a fortnight :O fingers crossed he plays by these rules x

Thats not that bad, tell your G'dad that h2b is planning it, h2b might welcome the financial input from g'dad anyway. Ask your g'dad to speak to h2b as you are having nothing to do with the honeymoon and it's all his responsibility, h2b can accept or decline any financial input and point g'dad in the right direction if he want's to swapsie it for the photographer or the dress :)
