Yes! I am too!
My OH thought we'd be engaged for at least a couple of years (we have already been together for 9 years!), but I still have Grandparents alive who I am very close to and I want there. They are both in their mid 80s so I told him it'll be 2013 or not at all!
Either way hun, I dont think 2014 is really that far away. TIme flies when you're planning a wedding! All the extra time wil help you perfect all the details and have more time to save some cash!

I can understand why you're impatient but I don't think it should be rushed especially the baby part. Me and OH have been together for 5 years and engaged 18 months. We're now expecting our first child so had to postpone the wedding as I want to get rid of the baby weight before the big day. I'm very traditional so if everything had gone to plan I would be getting married next year and the baby the year after. Don't rush into everything enjoy the time you have now before everything comes at once xxx

Haha, nice to know I'm not the only one. Our parents are contributing to our wedding a lot so we can get married next year as I'm desperate for kids and h2b is even more so. All my friends have children and even though we are only 25 and 28 so still young we just wanted kids before we were 30. I am coming off my pill in may but use condoms, get married in August and then can start trying. I didn't want to be pregnant on my wedding day but also been on the pill for 8 years so my body needs a break and doctor said it may take us a while as been on the pill for so long and it will happen when it does. Just be patient, when I get upset about it my mum reminds me I have my whole life with this man so an extra year is nothing in our life's xxxx

Your not the only impatient one hun. Waiting will just make you want it all even more! x

I am so impatient!! I have everything worked out in my head but cant book or pay for certain things yet as it is too early and we dont have the money! I would get married this year if I could afford it! As for the implant, my friend had this and had a bleed for nearly a month after, it wasn't heavy but it was constant so I would say leave it until after the wedding to have it removed. Your body won't take long to adjust, my other friend fell pregnant within 2 weeks of having hers removed! Millz 090, also be careful after coming off the pill if you dont want to fall pregnant within a certain time frame. My aunt came off the pill after being on it for 16 years and fell pregnant within 3 months. You can't take what a doctor says as gospel as it is all down to the individual and how their body reacts to things xxx

I also know how you feel with the contraception issue. I wanna stop it now but it's probably not worth the risk until after the wedding. Damn impatience!
There's three of us on H2B's side of the family getting married and wanting babies and it feels very much like a competition at the moment and I'll be so glad once we're married so I don't feel part of this "must win at life" atmosphere cause it's so hard not to play into it!

I'd also like ours to be sooner, but there is no way we can possibly afford it! So for now we are having fun booking/choosing things every month. And I actually quite like that! Spreads out the planning in a nice way.. xx

I'm impatient to get married too (and have babies if I'm honest - think I can feel my ovaries shrivelling up already)... but in terms of implants etc, perhaps keep it in til after the wedding and honeymoon - I assume you drink alcohol so maybe you'd want to be able to enjoy champagne or cocktails without the slightest worry of any potential damage. Plus, I can only imagine that tinkering with hormone levels at one of the most stressful times of your life wouldn't help much!!
CommentAuthornatalie2614
I know how you feel, but we originally had April 2014 in mind and had to bring it forward 12 months because h2b is going in the marines earlier now. So then it became panic stations to get everything sorted. Enjoy the time planning and perfecting things and saving up, I wish I had the luxury of saving up.
With regards to contraception, I had my implant out in May, went straight onto the pill, the woman in the clinic advised me that if I stop taking the pill my fertility resumed normal levels straight away, but with the implant it could have taken a few months. Maybe see about going onto the pill before your wedding, maybe 3 months before?
Probably TMI, but I never had a period on the implant, and havent had one since I went onto the pill in May. God knows what I'll be like when I eventually stop taking it to start trying for babies! xx
