Last week British Gas came to service the boiler and bleed the radiators. The radiator then started to leek and it came through the ceiling. They told me it would take over a week for them to come and bring a new one and fix it. So today I have waiting in all day for no one to show. I had a call at dinner time asking if the part had been dropped off (which it hadn't) Just rang them now to find out that they had cancelled on me and re booked me in for tomorrow without even telling me!
Now I don't know if it is me getting mad for the sake of it but WTF? They can't make one phone call to tell me they cancelled? They have left me stuck in the house all day for nothing. The woman now wants to know if they can come tomorrow as that is when they have rescheduled? Erm no I can't I'm out for the day!
I get pain and when its cold it makes it worse. We have already been without heating in the bedroom for over a week which means I wake up even more sore than usual. How dare they leave us like this all this time when we are paying a lot of money for a service we are not getting! How hard is it to order a part and get it to arrive on time? Or even make a bloody phone call. I'm going absolutely spare now! Its not like me to loose my temper like this but they have really made me mad.

Even when I have bad days I have some software that lets me talk to the laptop and it types for me. Most of the time the thing that stops me getting on here is if I have left the laptop downstairs. My hands and feet can get bad sometimes but I have ways of getting around it ;0) Nothing stops me from coming on UK bride (apart from when I was out and about on Monday and Tuesday lol)
I've just spoken to the h2b and he made me laugh so I have calmed down a little bit but I can still feel the blood pumping around. I wanted to go and get my cake boxes and sixpence from the post office and can't now because I've been stuck in the house for nothing. I just can't believe how pants this company is. Just waiting on a phone call back. I really feel sorry for the lady who is having to deal with me. I have told her that I'm not mad at her and it isn't her fault but I'm fuming and bless her she has even gone off to visit the parts department in person for me. Just shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I will leave that up to the h2b to sort as he pays the bills. In the mean time I have some good news as the nice lady I just spoke to on the phone has gone above and beyond the call of duty. She personally went down to the parts department to find out what went wrong and to make sure that it was there etc. She then got the engineer to go and pick it up tonight so it will be here at 8am tomorrow morning! Its the best that she could do to make a bad situation right so I am very grateful to her. Most people in the call centre would have just fobbed me off. I can have heat again tomorrow! Whoop!

We are already getting the parts for free as it is part of the service the h2b pays for although it has ruined my fave pj's as the black stuff went all over them and won't wash out and the new bed room carpet has black stuff on it too that won't come out. I just can't believe that they can make such a big mistake and then balls up fixing it.

i think we must be one of a very small minority that dont have problems with british gas and find them the cheapest! We are on their essentials tariff because OH has arthritis in most of his joints. None of the other companies can get close to the essentials tariff from BG, and we've had a letter through today saying they have credited our elec account with £50 to help us out because of the bad winter we had! Are you on the normal tariff jo? Ask about essentials if your not already on it. As for their boiler service stuff, the council sort ours out so we dont use BG for that, but the council are just as useless, we've had 4 leaks in less than 2 years! BG can't come and fix it for us because they have to have permission from council :S Hope you get a good deal out of them when you complain

What do you need to get on the essentials and how does that work? h2b's bills are sky high now I am living here as he has to have the heating on more than he ever did before.

All power suppliers offer a discount for people who are on certain benfits due to illness or disbility. I have just written a piece about this for a local newsletter. They all also call it different things so you just need to call your supplier and ask for information about the discounts available for the disabled. It can be as much as a 20% discount but depends on eligibility and who lives with you.

New Update! The idiots have not turned up at 8am like told yesterday. They decided I could wait until later on today even though it is listed as priority. Engineer has my parts and guess what? A delivery driver has just turned up with some more! Got to be out the house in an hour and a half and still not even in the shower yet as been waiting for them to turn up. Its getting beyond a joke now!
