We're having hunter green as a colour scheme, we were going to have emerald green but the suit guys don't have it.... so it's hunter or lighter and fiancé doesn't like lighter.

I've asked about other colours, I wanted yellow.... that was shot down, I also love bright pink and orange and he said that looks nice but you have to be a colourful person for it.... which annoyed me because when I said don't you think I'm a colourful person, he said well yeah you are, but I'm not.

Now don't get me wrong, I know the wedding is about him as well.... but that's my point, it's about him AS WELL! It's my wedding too.

Anyway, so I want another colour as well, I like the hunter green but I love bright colours and we're having a summer wedding too so I think it's a bit too dark and dull for that.

Me and my bridesmaids have talked about lilac as well (partly because of one of the dresses I've been looking at for me)
I also like the idea of yellow and green (although remember it has to be hunter green) as yellow is one of my favourite colours (so is green, but a brighter green then hunter) (although he's slightly just put me off that idea by shouting Norwich city wedding as soon as I suggested it..... AGAIN making it about him as his family are from Norfolk)

Hmmm.... Green is a very very tricky colour I personally would put it with cream...
Personally I don't like yellow and green together :/ sorry... If you've got for heart set on yellowy hues I'd go with gold... Personally I think green isnt a goods match with many other colours but that's just I'm honest opinion xxx

I think perhaps a nice stoney kind of colour would look good.

I think the yellow could work if it were a darker shade, more mustard colour rather than a bright yellow.
I would personally visit a diy shop & have a play around with the paint colour cards.

I think a pink shade would work well, google it and see what you think :) I wouldn't go for green and yellow, I am from Great Yarmouth and the first thing I thought when I read it was Norwich City too, and if a lot of h2b's family are from Norfolk, they will have the same thought! Xxx

I actually think either lilac or a pale yellow. As it's a dark green a pastel shade woukd be good. A darker yellow might look too 'schooley'!
If yellow is your fav colour, then i think you should go for that.

I voted for lilac as I like the combination of purple/green shades (it was my colour scheme but I had the darker purple and lighter green). I like the way the purple and green compliment each other.

We are having sea foam green (a dark one too) and we are having ivory and silver accents. I think it looks really nice!

Lilac is sort of at the top of my list as well, because I have fallen in love with a dress which has some lilac and pink flowers on it (not too much just a little at the waist) haven't tried it on yet and plan on trying it on along with about a hundred other dresses just to make sure it's the one ;) so if I go for that one then lilac will def be the other colour and we'll just bring it in with the flowers ect. so not too much (although one of my bridesmaids is sorting chair covers so she might manage to come up with something amazing as she's much more creative and knows what works better then me)

I'm just a little gutted we're not having a bright colour scheme, I like the hunter green and have some shoes which I love in that colour (not for the wedding lol, just some nice pumps) but I do get a little jealous when I see people with these bright colour schemes. I just think it's very me,

The venue's ballroom has a lot of gold anyway, so that will be in there and because of that we're going to be looking at gold jewellery :)

We had emerald green, and I got my bridesmaids mustard yellow clutch bags - the two colours worked really well together. You can check out my 'the big day' photos to see them in action :-)

But for the grooms men and other accessories, I went with cream. I hope that helps x

Thanks hun, yeah that helps, your pics look stunning :)

I wish we could have emerald green, really annoyed actually that the suit place doesn't have emerald as I do like the hunter but prefer emerald and hunter green seems to be really awkward for bridesmaid dresses

    Thanks Donna & missweedles :-)
That's what 2yrs of planning and a good photographer looks like, lol.

Originally I had seen some bridesmaid dresses from dessy that were hunter green that I loved, but it was impossible for me to get the same colour for the groomsmen. But I think dark yellow, cream or pale gold colours work well with either emerald or hunter :-)

I've been following this post and it's only now, when I have searched "hunter green wedding theme" and up pops a pair of hunter wellies that I realise that's why it's called hunter green? Hahaaaa, such a bimbo at times. There are some pictures with a burnt orange that looks lovely though x

I chose hunter green as wanted to pick a colour from my oh kilt. I teamed this with cream but yellow would work well. Have a look at a few different kilt patterns as it will show a number of different colours that will work well with hunter green x

Donna, your dresses don't need to be hunter green though if you are having troubles finding them. Mine wore purple (that was the original colour), and I had the men and my accessories in the green. That's an option maybe if the other colour you chose is easier to find.

GF it's weird that you say that, as I was just discussing that earlier with my fiancé. We will have to see what scheme we go with and what we can find

I couldn't find the right green for the suits either. The oh chose to have silvery waistcoats to compliment the green instead of match it.
