Wedding Forum - How/where did ur h2b propose?......or did...

It wasn't romantic at all, we'd been at his works BBQ all had a little bit too much to drink and on the walk home he just kind of asked me like he was asking a general question, I told him to stop being stupid and he was saying he was serious so I got upset and I told him if he was serious he would ring his parents up when we got back and tell them lol, so he did at about 11 or 12 at night ha ha.

A few weeks later he bought me the engagement ring and that was it really.

It's a long story but I spoilt his original plan so after a nice day out with a picnic and champagne he got down on one knee in the living room when we got home! I wouldn't change it for the world though, after 6 and a half years I'd kind of given up hope of him ever doing it! Xx

He asked me while we were having dinner. Just like that, at home.. I didn´t expect it that day, so it was a real surprise, it brought me to tears even though it wasn´t too romantic ;) .

Whilst cuddling up in bed one morning. He knew I'm not into the whole surprise thing though I had always imagined I'd be proposed to whilst out for a meal or something and him on one knee. But seriously the way he did it he was probably more comfortable with than anything else and honestly I wouldn't change a thing about that moment.

My h2b is NEVER romantic but the proposal was really romantic i was really shocked!

We were on holiday abroad and we went for a walk along the beach, then along this pier bit and at the end he told me how much he loved me and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him :).. my nerves got the better of me and i laughed at him! oops i did say yes though haha!

I'm 28 and I still found it scary telling my mum n dad lol x

Mine didn't go quite to plan for my h2b! We went to Gran Canaria last year for my birthday & his plan was to propose on my birthday, we went to a family party the night before we flew out to GC & both had a bit too much to drink (him more than me!) so we woke in a panic the morning of the flight as we were running late & he was still a bit drunk! As we got right near the airport, he realised he'd left all my presents at home (the ring included) which I obviously didn't know about. When we got to our apartment, I phoned my mum to let her know we got there ok & told her about h2b forgetting the presents, she kept saying she couldn't believe he'd done that etc, I couldn't see the problem cos I just thought, well I'll open them when I get home! So I was still none the wiser about it all. When we did get home, he gave me most of my presents, except one which he kept hidden & said I couldn't have it just yet. When I opened the last present I had, it was a ring! He looked really shocked & quickly got down on one knee & asked me to marry him .. after I'd got over the shock/excitement, he told me he didn't mean to give me the ring, he thought they were some earrings he'd got me! So both times he'd planned, both went wrong! Lol. But it makes a good story to tell ;) & he later made it up to me, as I'm a support worker, I take my ring off for work & I came home one day & our puppy came running up to see me & she had my ring on her collar & he asked me again! My mum also said that on the night of my birthday, while we were away, all my family were texting her asking if I'd said yes so all she could say was 'I'll tell you when they get home cos the idiot forgot the ring!' Lol, gott love 'em aint ya! xx

Mine was totally unplanned and highly unconventional, and completely not how I anticipated it going...

His friend said to us 'tomorrow we're having an engagement party for you both! Meet you tomorrow for rings!" I thought he was joking, until the following day when he turned up... So we went to get rings! (Yes, plural, as that's the tradition there - a lovely sentiment.)

After the rings, we had to have them blessed - albeit in a bar - (very similar to saying vows to be honest!) and we shared around celebratory baklava.

I then dragged him to the park to be asked properly. Unfortunately he wouldn't go down on one knee, and there were people literally breathing down our necks on the same bench as us, and as there were 2 rings, I also had to ask him!

We celebrated by going clubbing...

I felt sick the entire day, as I didn't know how to break it to my parents... Needless to say, so far, so good :)

He asked me in a cinema car park and then noticed I was a bit miffed that he hadn't been romantic so took me by the river in Pangbourne (Near Reading) and got down on one knee x

Gothbride2b that is a very unique way of getting a proposal I think it is sweet and very romantic as it is a typical thing your H2B would do so its personal for the pair of you =D ♥ X

Had to wait 6 years though

we went to the h2b's nans for Rubys christening in oct 2009 and he asked me at the christening. it was the exact date that i found out i was pregnant just a year on

I booked us a week in Rome last year and on our first day we were walking through Villa Borghese and we sat down on a bench for a little bit and had a cuddle. He asked me if I'd had a good day and i said that it had been perfect! the taxi arrived on time to take us to the airport, we didnt queue at check in, we got the good seats on the plane, our bags came off first etc etc (Romantic hey) and he said "I'm glad you've had a good day. There's only one way to make it perfect though" and fell to one knee told me he loved me and asked me to marry him. I burst into tears said "yes of course I will" and then he had a little tear or two as well.

Perfect perfect proposal for us. Cannot wait to marry him.xx

I was proposed to at the lakeside in Disneyland Paris then fireworks went off over the castle. It sounds corny but was lovely.

Bump!!!

My h2b proposed in Las Vegas, we well there 4 the 2nd time & staying in Caesars palace on our 4 year anniversary!! He was gonna do it at the Bellagio fountains but there was people about and was 2 embarrassed so he waited 2 we got 2 our hotel room,when we were swapping anniversary gifts I thought he got me earrings when he handed me the box & when I opened it I asked how I take the ring lol 2 which he asked me 2 marry him!! Bless him ( & he didn't get on 1 knee) Vegas is always special 2 us that's y we going there 4 our honeymoon and naming our tables on our wedding day after Las Vegas hotels ... Our table is called Caesars palace :0)

It was our 4th Anniversary and my H2B took me to the London Hilton for a champagne afternoon tea, we finished and I said I don't think the day could get any better, it was just perfect and he took out the box out of his suit jacket pocket and asked me marry him! Of course I said yes and the ring was perfect!
