lol I kind of proposed to him, my long awaited divorce came through eventually on 24th sept 2009 a day before my birthday and I just asked him when he was going to marry me lol he chocked on his lunch because I had said I wasn't in any hurry to get married again and not to bother asking me!! Anyway I passed it off as a joke (teeny bit embarrased actually) and he asked me a month later if I would get married again and the rest is history ;0) He got on one knee in front of my children in a very bust pub (who says romance is dead lol)

Well what can i say ladys.... except that me and H2b have been planning our wedding for almost a year now, i've been emailing around for quotes on different things so i can get a rough idea of what things will cost and make a provisional budget etc and i have dropped the biggest hints ever to wanting to get engaged but now anytime i hint about wanting to get engaged he tells me "i'm not going to bother asking you" so in a strop i demanded to know what was going on and he said that yes he wants to marry me (he even said that he wanted to marry me infront of his brothers fience she asked if he was gonna propose and he said no) So at the moment even though he says he wants to marry me, asking me to plan our wedding etc he hasn't yet asked :( xx

Jason proposed to me on my 30th birthday, he made me a special breakfast and hid the box behind a napkin. I had a cold so i had a tissue in my hand which i used instead of the napkin, he sat there for about half an hour before i finally used it!! I did wonder why he looked a bit nervous, i thought he was just worried i wouldnt like the food!! ha ha!! Best day of my life!! x

Neither of us asked... we were at a pub, celebrating New year... and he just sayed: 'we should get married' He said the date as well.. 12.12.2012. at 12 o'clock. :D I just replied: wi'll have to go somewhere nice and warm then.. like Australia. (hes been talkin about thing like that before, when having a drink, just doesnt remember it the day after.... thought this will be the same, but it wasnt. :) have changed our mind about Australia by now, but date and time still the same.. I had to ask him about the ring though... asked him 'are we engaged then?' He sayed:'yes of course, we've been engaged for ages...' :D:D:D lol. Said he wants us to get a tattoo instead of rings, but I said I want a ring as well... so on my weekend off took me ringshopping. :) Bit wierd.... he didnt ask, i didnt ask, but it just happened, we just decided to do it.

H2b proposed to me on 20th March 2010, he went out with my brother and was gone for about 2 hours! Mum rang them to see if everything was okay as there had been an accident out where they were going,
My little ones were asleep and mum and i were watching the lion the witch and the wardrobe, i was sprawled on the sofa, any how Steve and my brother returned, Steven place a box on my tummy then ran off!,
I asked him what it was and he told me to look in the box, I asked him why he ran away and he said his big tasty was getting cold! LMAO. He quickly wolfed it down and came back got down on one knee and proposed! my mum nearly fell of her chair! Lol.

my h2b and I was moving from Reading to Bristol and the day before we moved we went to our favourite place.. the river thames lock in Goring, Berkshire.. it's where h2b grew up and I've always loved it there.. Anyway, he got down on one knee (in the mud) and produced the ring and gave this whole speech about how moving is a new start and he wants to start it as my fiance lol was very soppy, I was gob smacked and cried, said yes, put my ring on and rang my mum straight away lol .. there was people walking past us congratulating us, was very surreal! x

My H2B was working in Luton, and I was living in Staffordshire 150 miles away. He worked a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, well I was happily cleaning away at home thinking H2B was at his Mums, next thing I know there's a knock on the door and he's standing there with a box of choccies....I was kinda in shock, when he handed me the box they had been opened so I threw them on the side and moaned that he had travelled all that way to give me a box of chocolates that he had started eating LOL .... at this point he was getting very impatient and told me to have a chocolate....when I opened the box the heart shaped strawberry cream was missing and in its place was my ring with a note saying "Please be my Wifey" :D I obviously said yes!! xxx

it was my birthday and it was first thing when i woke up, i had to open all my presents off everyone else, then my presents off him, the second last present was my engagement rings, then as my last present he bought me a bunch of wedding magazines and wrapped them up and after all the commotion i finally got my birthday card saying fiancee on it...

Some really lovely stories here ! h2b took me to the exact spot my dad proposed to my mum on the same date (16years later lol) and at the same time (28th Oct - my dad's birthday- at 7.15pm), he'd asked their permission earlier that day and if they'd mind him stealing their spot ! he even managed to get the perfect sized ring :) i wondered why he'd been quiet and fidgity ALL day hehe, shouldav clicked when he'd been asking questions about my mum and dads engagement for weeks beforehand :) !

i had been hinting to my H2B for 4 ages but he didn't get the hint.
anyway 25th december 2009 i decided would be the date i proposed (well sort of lol). i bought some thorntons alphabet chocolates whith read "will you marry me? and i had removed one of the chocolates and placed his ring in there. i wrap them up and put them at the bottom of his present pile. he opened his ps3 and other smaller presents and then when he got to his chocolates he shook them and said "what are these?" i said "open it" i was shaking like a leaf. incase he said no....................anyway when he finally got into them he opened the flap and read what it said and then looked at me for what seemed like forever but was prob only 30 seconds lol he then looked up at me and said "are you serious?" i nodded and he said "yes you silly bugger " and started to cry !!!! and we hugged what seemed like ages xxxx

mine was in dominican! been there a few days he had been actin weird since we went back to hotel room, while i was gettin ready he was pacin, i kept sayin wat u doin etc he said he was 'warm n fluster n i be ok and am takin my phone out 2nite' so i got ready and we went to the champagne/cocktail bar he said sit down and i go get us 2 glasses of moet then wen he passe dme mine i saw the ring in the bottom ( all the bubbles attached to it!) then he said ...will u marry me! i said yes of course! then he rang his mum ( she was waitin 4 this call had her best mates round drinkin celebratin this LOL thenwhen we got home FIL told us she was very drunk and toastin my ring LOL)

Mine was on the London eye, we had a champagne flight, he was too scared to ask me exactly on the flight as there were other people on there (he couldnt afford the £440 for a private capsule) so asked as we were stepping off :D sweet though

My h2b's planned his whole day to a tea..bless his heart.. yet none of it worked the way he has hoped. It was our 1year anniversary of meeting and he has organised this day out for us both. We had to walk down to the ferry for midday and catch the ferry over to the north side of the river, we would have a drink and some lunch in 'The Lucky ****' pub, then go to the top of the bell tower and look at the sights, we then were going to go on a ferris wheel where he would propose at the top with the ring he had chosen for me.
Well... what actually happened was..
It was raining in the morning so we ended up not going out til 3pm. We got the ferry across to the north side of the river and went for a drink at 'The Lucky ****' but the menu didnt cater for veggies so we walked about the town and settled on a chinese. We decided to walk to the bell tower however my man decided that $13 each to walk up some steps and look at a bell as too much so we decided against that.. The ferris wheel was 'closed for winter' so we headed back to the pub and had a bottle of wine. We managed to get the ferry back to the south side of the river and my h2b had thought of another plan to propose..only it was only just dusk and he needed it to be dark so he said 'Do you need anything from the shop?' When I said no, he said he wanted some cheese so we had to go anyway(to kill time). By the time we had left the shop it was dark. We were walking home alone the rivers edge and he kept stopping and holding me close every few minutes. The view on the other side of the river was wonderful..Perth's city lights, absolutly stunning. The last time he stopped we had walked onto a jetty. He said 'You love this view, dont you?' I did and he knew it. When I arrived in Australia it was the first thing he took me to see when I landed and I had always been inlove with it since. He pulled the ring from his pocket and held it up infront of me and asked me to be his wife. I thought he was joking and he had to get down on one knee to prove his point. Bless him.
So thats mine. On the 10th July 2011 in Perth, Western Australia. On a jetty with the city lights in the background. And 2 seagulls as our witnesses.

Theres some lovely stories here :D. Mine isnt so cute as some of yours lol. Sat in the living room surrounded by our 3 kids I was telling him about a competition to win your wedding that I'd heard on the local radio. His response was cool, so I asked him, what? can I enter? He said yes so I asked him, if I enter and we win you'll marry me?, He said yes. I started crying and again asked him if this was it, if we were engaged, and he said yes :D. The kids were over the moon (as were we!) . No ring, no-one on one knee, but a perfect moment for us as a family :D

I was on a family holiday with his family in sri lanka and the maldives. we were in the maldives in the beginning part of the trip and he was acting all weird. wouldnt let me near hes stuff or near the safe. on the last night we got away from hes family and went to watch the sunset on the beach and thats when he said he was trying to propose all day but didnt go to his plans. i laughed it off as he had played a joke about it before and i didnt believe him unill he got down on one knee and opened the ring box. he had tried to do on a snorkelling trip but there was no room on it and thn again at the villa but his family kept showing up every time lol.

Mine wasnt really romantic I knew he was going to do it I chose my ring! went to the hospital as I was really Ill with my lady area! come home and he got down on one knee with a cute teddy and a single red rose and he put the ring in the teddy's pocket :D
Needless to say after the trip to the hospital The engagement cheered me up! He never planned how he was going to do it! just he wanted to do it xmas day! but with how sad i was he did it on the 15th December 2010 :D <3

My h2b proposed to me in the car outside the gorgeous restaurant that he had booked us into lol. The plan was, we were to have our meal and he was going to propose before dessert but.....h2b got cold feet, lost his nerve and blurted it before we'd even got to the table hahaha. It was very romantic though and there was tears. The meal was spent with me grinning like a cheshire cat and looking at my ring :) xx

We'd been talking about weddings for a few months before H2B proposed and we actually went and looked in the window of a jewellery shop and he asked me what sort of rings I liked and I honestly didnt think much of it because we'd only been quite vague about things.
H2B took me to a hotel for valentines day 2011 and the start of the trip everything went wrong for him lol the woman took us to 2 rooms that hadnt even been cleaned yet and then we finally got into a new room that was perfect and I'd literally put my bags down, gone to the bathroom and come out and there was a big box on the bed with 2 cards and I kept saying it wasn't valentines day until tomorrow but he got me to open one card that said "Happy valentines day to my girlfriend" and in the box was completely full of packets of haribo rings and he told me to dig deeper and I finally found the little box and I turned round and he was down on one knee and popped the question :) I cried so much and then opened the second card that said "Happy valentines day to my fiancee" so he came fully prepared! & to top it all of the ring he bought me was the one from the shop window, he told me he'd gone back the very next day so he'd had it for months!
Needless to say I was the happiest girl in the world and got engaged the day before valentines day because in his words "I just couldn't wait any longer" lol

My h2b proposed on Christmas morning 2009 :-)
He had took all my presents upstairs the night before (which i found strange as we have 2 kids, so would be up early anyways) Woke up christmas morning opened all my presents & turned round, there was Stuart down on one knee telling me how much he loved me, had been together a year & had just had our 1st baby in Aug 2009.
I went to tell my mum (she had stayed the night before to see the kids on christmas morning) My mum already because Stuart had asked her if it was ok if he proposed to me!! Was only my mum & stuart that knew about it. He had even picked the ring himself & in my perfect size.
Was the best christmas ever :-) :-)

Well.. all these nice romantic stories - and then mine lol... We went away to London for the weekend, and unbeknown to me - he'd asked my fathers permission and got the ring... I love trafalger square at night, and we were there... He started telling me how much he loved me and I cut in and said 'love you too... can we go get some food??!!' the next day he carried the ring round with him all day, but unfortunately I got a bad case of the runs and we had to go back to the hotel... I slept for a couple of hours, before waking up and reluctantly agreeing to go out... I got all dressed up but of course - as soon as I was ready - I needed to go to the toilet again... I came out of the toilet to find him on one knee... He said a lovely speech about how I was akward and wouldnt let him propose while we were out, and that he loves me even when I do smelly poos, and wants to spend the rest of his life with me... It was lovely in it's own little way - but I must admit we just tell people he proposed in the hotel room and nothing else! lol

My h2b had promised he was going to propose by xmas of 2007, he was saving up money for a ring, then I got pregnant and my mother kicked us out of her house and we needed to use that money to get us into our flat. He was devastated that he wouldn't be able to keep his promise. So the week before that christmas I went out (with our baby daughter) and bought a fairly cheap ring (I think it was £30) because I'm not really a jewellery person and I like simple things anyway. I wrapped it up and put it under the tree and on Christmas morning he opened it looking a bit puzzled, I told him his christmas present was for him to keep his promise and he proposed right there. It was sort of a combined effort I suppose.

Well Xmas eve 2010 at midnight my H2B poured me a glass of wine and told me to go to bed and wait while he fetched me a pressie, I wasn't too well and was quite snotty lol, he brought in a box which contained more boxes containing little gifts rose petals etc with love notes and then a card with his proposal on I looked up to see Rich on one knee with a beautiful diamond ring, he kissed me through snot and tears..it was so romantic :D

Me & H2b had planned a holiday away to lanzerote before our little girl was due - i was 7months pregnant when we had gone away - it was a beautiful break! i had no idea exactly what he had planned throughout the holiday - he had told me he wanted to take me for a walk (me being pregnant wasnt liking the idea much) but went anyways lol - it took us about half an hour to walk down to the beach where he had spotted a long walk way that went into the sea but was on the other side - he wanted to go there! didnt tell me why just wanted to take pictures lol, we got down there and he was asking very weird questions - he had asked me if i was ever thinking of getting married to him and what would i say - i said yes of course i plan to but didnt know when.. we cuddled for a while and watched the sunset go down until he pulled a ring out of his pocket got down on 1 knee and asked that QUESTION every girl dreams of :)

I Went straight to the phone box to call the uk to tell my mother the good news!
What i didnt know is that before we went away he had secretly asked my dad if he could - my dad gave him the clear
My mother didnt even know anything about it !! its what shocked me the most - the only 2 people who knew was my dad and my H2B.

we had been together a year and i was pregnant. my waters broke but after being in hospital for 24 hours and nothing else happening i was induced. it was my h2b's fathers birthday and the day of the royal wedding. we wer suposed to be having a party but it got cancled because i was in labor. later that evning i was taken to the labor ward and had all wires atached to me and a drip in my left hand. the baby was born at 10.40pm and after evry one went home the 2 of us were left in the labor room with the baby when he got down on one knee and pulled the box out. of course i sed yes i was still a bit out of it so i can't tell u what he sed lol. but it was very romantic.
so it was a triple celebration xxxx

Aw there are some lovely posts on here :). My H2B proposed last June on our last night in Turkey. We went onto the beach to watch the firework display the resort had put on for the people who were leaving and he got down on one knee and asked me as we were watching fireworks. I was very shocked and wasnt expecting it at all :)

My h2b took me to Dubai to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and he proposed on the balcony of our suite.
On my birthday 4 years ago he made me a book of the 'love is' characters - he drew all the picture of things we had done throughout the year, and since then its been our little thing, so the card he made for our 5 year anniversary was the love is characters watching a sunset and on the back he wrote love is.. asking you to marry me, which I didn't even notice until he go down on one knee and told me to turn the card over :)

i went to liverpool on the 29th of may and came back on the 31st and when i was unpacking my suitcase i just heard my h2bs voice behind me sayin stacey will you marry me tuck me a while to turn round cos i was in shock but when i did turn round he was on one knee and he asked me again and i said yes i was so excited and happy and even more pleased when i relised that the stunning ring he had in his hand was my nanas she died 10 years ago and it was her engagement ring and is over 45 years old he had gone to my granda and asked if he could marry me and my granda give it to him and he got it cleaned for me i love him so much xx
