So, H2B want to create our own Save the Dates but we haven't a clue where to start neither of us have a creative bone in our bodies, we have ideas in our heads but can never put it onto paper. I wanted to order simple but nice save the date magnets as they are around the same price as a card! But to order 100 has come out quite expensive.

Did anyone else DIY their Save The Dates??? Any Top Tips you can give us?

Also how early did you send out your save the dates???

We done ours on Vistaprint and it worked out really reasonable price wise :-). You can get magnets, pens, e.t.c and choose the card size. They give you great ideas or you can design your own, add photos, e.t.c.
I didn't want to spend a fortune on Save The Date cards and Vistaprint seemed to be the most ecomomic.
I am getting married on 21st May 2015 and I have been handing them out for the last month or so. Though that's mainly because our venue only hold most of the accommodation until 6 months prior to the wedding so I wanted to give guests the chance to book their stay before then and had this info detailed on the back of the card.
Im not sure what the 'normal' time of for the save the date though!
Apparently you're supposed to send out invitations 8 weeks before the wedding, but I'll be doing mine about 3-4 months before so that it gives enough time to get RSVPs and have table planning, e.t.c. sorted out.

We're not even sending out save the dates - we figured it's not really worth spending the money/effort on as everyone coming to our wedding already knows the date anyway and where it is etc. We will just send our invitations out a little bit earlier instead x
