This may be a dumb question but when doing my name places and table plan and invites i suppose do i write their full names on them, first names or like Grandma?

It depends on you guys really, if you want to be informal, write grandma if not write their full names

Save the dates didnt have names on. I think invites need to be done formally plus the invite will say 'Martin Gibson and Frankie Planchon together with their families invite you to the wedding on their daughter.........' so wont actually be coming from us from addressed from my parents. But its the table plan and name cards im not sure on?

Sorry, I'm invite mad at the moment....what style of wedding are you having, is it quite formal or are you quite laid back?

I would just use formal name, in my family there are far too many Nan's and Grandad's we end up putting Nan Flo, Nan Jo, etc so might as well write the name out anyway.

Yeah, I can see that being a bit of a pain, I think it's nicer to have people's full names at weddings, but that's just personal opinion

Maybe if you want to mix the fun and the formal, get the place cards that sit on glasses or decorate the place cards slightly
(Sorry my brain has gone into create mode)

Was just thinking how many Grandma's etc there would be? and if there would be any confusion with that.

Are you having a table plan? maybe match what you put on there to the place cards.

I know for some I will make them informal ie for close friends as we have names we use for eachother which would be more personal then full names.

Our invites only had first names and our table plan and place names will be the same. We're having quite an informal touch to our wedding. But it's completely up to you what you do, just go with what's right for both of you.

If you wanted to keep it informal you could always put nanna and then underneath in smaller text put grandmother of the bride/groom etc.

I think thats what I'll be doing

4th April 2014 - I get married to my soul mate

I'd suggest maybe full name on the table plan, then as people go to their tables just have first name on place cards, but of course depends on if there are people with the same names at particular tables, could do John P and John T for example.

Personal opinion as regards to most things to be honest!
Unfortunately we won't have much confusion over grandparents, as only the one Nan coming :( but we will probably stick with informals and have first names on place cards etc. Working on guest list as i speak, only confusions would be aunts/uncles but as on 'family' tables can always do Aunt/Uncle for that 'fun informal' touch. we will see. they will probably have full names on table plan.

oh i dont know, you got me thinking now Millz!!! not good!! x

I think it is up to both you how you write them. :) If you like informal go for it, if not then formal. Just try a couple out at first and then see which one you think looks best.
