I would like to invite some of the people I work with to the wedding but although I know their husbands/children I dont know them that well. I would prefer the people I work with to come to the day but invite their husbands/kids to the evening as the wedding will be a flight away from where they live I thought they will probably want to make a weekend of it. Any thoughts on how to word the invitations? Or is this just not a 'done thing'?

just put their name on but invlude the husband/kids invite in the same invite

or just send a work invite and then if they want to invite kids just tell them to their faces that they can come to the evening, then you've got all your work mates together
