My friend found moving in her dress much easier at toe length especially when it came to dancing tiggs, ask you dressmaker to pin it and give it a gliding around like a princess :0)xxx

Yep flats are bad for your feet.

Wearing completely flat shoes can put strain on your achilles tendon and your calf muscles. There's no heel support and you run the risk of plantar fasciitis - which is a painful condition caused by excess strain on the plantar fascii which runs under your foot. When there is no support in the arch the foot can roll inwards causing even more pain and problems!

The best type of shoes for your feet are ones that have 1/2 to 3/4 inch heels. hey give better support over the whole of the foot.

Whatever shoes you are wearing - if you are not used to them then do as the other ladies have suggested and gradually increase the wearing time each day so your feet get used to them :=)

i have a book called 'how to walk in high heels' it's a book that explains everything about being a 'modern day woman' like walking in heels, how to dress for an interview or wire a plug etc.
on a more serious note the only answer is practise

Is that why my heels burn Goff?

I found some old old heels (the same I wore 6 years or so ago at school) to practise in :)

i am a huge heels lover, even wore them when i was pregnant. its all down to practise good fit and foot care. you dont want to be in heels all day without some partyfeet sole pads. try getting a cheap pair about the same height as your wedding ones and wearing them around the house. then if you do fall no1 will se lol xx

I never wear high heels, and my wedding shoes aren't very high, but I can't walk in them. My Mum said I should wear them around the house when H2B is not in, but I'm struggling to do that

Luckily you still have a lot of time Claire. If you wear them and try to walk in them for just 5 minutes a day things will improve. Just take baby steps and be consistent. 9 months is plenty of time to prepare.

this thread is over 3 years old and no longer relevant. Please read the threads before posting to bump them up again.

Using the search tool is very handy but the relevance still needs to be checked before clogging up the front page with old out of date threads.

Aren't topics as relevant as "us" the forum users require them to be? If you don't wish topics to be further discuss, isn't it worth closing them if you feel they are no longer relevant?

Have to say I agree with clairenina on this one.

Also, it seems a bit of a double standard given so many threads are closed for bringing up the same topic as one that exists; maybe some clearer guidelines would be in order, or maybe threads that haven't had a reply in x amount of time (eg 6 months) could be closed? Just a thought.

I agree - whilst thread necromancy is irritating, it's very hard to make a judgement call when so many threads are closed because they have been discussed before....

I would suggest closing threads that are inactive after six months or so, if you have the ability to do this as barbie says.

And I don't see why it's irrelevant - the points raised are valid ones...it's a very difficult job to find a balance between starting a new thread and having umpteen threads on what are you doing for gifts/hen nights etc.....xx
