As some of you might now my relationship with MIL2B is not good, but wedding is still on even if she doesn't like me (and probably never will) and OH is fine with that. I am starting to get really irritated now that I have been off work for a while, especially it being so close to wedding now, because I am starting to be questioned by In-laws about various things that are not set, like table plan, food. New source of irritation is one of my flowergirl, who is OH's half sister and 11 years old. We get along quite well, but she is starting to p... me off a bit by requesting (if not nearly demanding) a few things. She is a little big for her age, and I will either need to get made to measure and choose a style of dress for her which will suit and flatter her, and she's got the impression that she needs to have final word on style, colour and everything about the dress. with her figure I want her to wear an A-line, something not emphasizing her hips and waist, but her new idea is having a mermaid type dress short, which will not go at all with my theme, and she is also starting to mention she wants to be at the top table, and there is no way I can put her there.

What would you do? For the dress I am sorry but she'll look really big if I manage to find something she's asking.
And for top table do you think that if I put her at same table than her best friend and my other flower girl will make up for her not being at our table?

Put your foot down and tell her that it's your day, your way!! You can't let an 11 year old child dictate your wedding.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've said this to people when they've questioned the style of my wedding. Thank Lala!

dont let her tell you how to have your wedding. at the end of the day you should be the one to choose the type and colour dress she is wearing as it has to fit in wiith your theme. if she doesnt like it then its her problem

My 5 year old niece has made a few demands, but I let her off as she's an absolute doll (and they're perfectly reasonable!).

Thanks girls, I just dont want her running to her dear Mummy, saying something mean about me. I'll just tell her the dress is a surprise until the wedding, and for table plan, I will not tell anyone until they go to venue and see it for themselves. Just remembered she requested to have a unique alice band and don't want my 2 other flower girls to have the same, but that's fine by me. She really is becoming a little diva, but you are right next time I will put my foot down.

My BM ( hubbys neice ) was the same age and I also had the same problem with her dress and her demands about what she would and wouldn't wear! I ended up falling out with SIL over it, to the point I was in tears. I wouldn't have minded but she wasn't even asked to be bridesmaid she just assumed! Than I had a year of torment about her dress, shoes, flowers etc etc ... it was horrible.
In the end my daughter who was MOH and her had totally different dresses, which worked well in the end, but at the time I remember being totally stressed to the max about the whole thing.
I would just tell her what she's having and say if she won't wear what you ask she can wear what she likes and come as a regular guests, I know it's hard but you can't have this upsetting you, I know how horrible it is hun. good luck x
I've popped a pic on here for you to see the end result ;)

Thanks chick ;) she was in a Monsoon dress the biggest size is age 13-14 years, but the cut is very A line and very forgiving for someone with a bit of a tummy, plus it was only £35 ;)
Yes the bigger BM is my daughter x
