I've seen some organza bags and I'm considering getting those and filling them with sweets, I just don't wanna look like a cheapskate but I'm clearly on a budget, we all are. Keep seeing people advertising on facebook for £2.50 each favour which for me is a minimum of £125... for some sweets... I mean, come on, I see 50 organza bags for £3.99 free postage on the bay of e and I can't help but think, why spend all this money when it surely is cheaper and shows more personality to do it ourselves?

My inlaws and my mum want to do so freaking much- invites, dress, helping to pay, place settings, table decs etc, I want something original that people can enjoy, relatively inexpensively that show's a bit of me. My colour theme is fuschia, white and silver, we're having bows as our little stamp of us (I have bows on everything so it's fitting)

Ideas please! I'll forver appreciate it! xx xx xx

hi, only advice i can give is to hunt high and low, also if yours good at crafty things the DIY! Im not very crafty and had decided from the start i wanted candles for the ladies favours! We are having entwined hearts on everything and i found gorgeous candles with the entwined hearts on but they were £4.25 each!! i was gutted. But I was adamant that i was going to have them, something else would have to go! i found them on the bay of e and thought surely they would be the cheapest??? but decided to do a search on the web! finally managed to find them for £2.75 each!
I decided to wait for a while till i had the money to pay for them, i went back on 3 weeks ago and put in the search again and i decided to go through 3 or 4 pages of g00gle instead of just the one! on page 4 I found a company selling them for £1.90 each and due to it being a proper shop and website i went on to some of the discount voucher sites and i found a 10% off voucher. so instead of £255 i managed to get them for £109. So it pays to shop and be patient.

if you want something unique, google is your best friend!!

type it in and you'll get so many ideas!! a lot of them can be done for very little money :)

do you want something edible?? or a keepsake?? something personalised?? i was going to buy a bag of white stones and write 'health, wealth, happiness, long-life and fertility' and them and put the 5 stones into a box or organza bag.

i had another idea about buying a load of shells (i'm getting married abroad) and giving them as favours (i may still do this)

it's all in the detail, whether you spend hundreds or a few pounds :)

I got fuschia organza bags off the bay and am filling them with almonds. also having miniatures too but I think just the almonds would be fine if your on a budget. Definitely cheaper to do this your self though. You can but a jar of sugared almonds for £10.00 off the internet and like you say the bags are only a couple of pounds off the bay. xx

Thanks ladies!! I think the favour boxes are chosen now but I have seen some amazing mini bubble things in wedding cake style for cheap on the bay so I might chuck those on the table too for something to keep- my other half wants some balloons that makes farty noises *sigh* told him to stop being childish and taking the class out of the day to which I got 'I'M the child?? YOU wanna blow bubbles!!!' *sigh* lol if he's not careful he's not being invited... ;) xx

Go to your local market haberdashery and see if they have them. I paid 20p a box (£16 for 70 boxes and a full reel of ribbon). I had to order them in but they look great x

I bought a job lot of black and white wooden roses for £12 off the bay, Ive got a 3m roll of red gingham ribbon for £4 and wooden heart tags for £7. I'm going to tie a black and a white rose together with the ribbon and put the wooden heart tag on it with each persons name (so it doubles as a place setting) also I am going to get a nice lollipop or something along those lines for the ladies and a mini whiskey for the blokes (we know someone who works in a distillary so we can get whiskey dead cheap)

We have silver bells(we will be mr and mrs bell) that double as place settings-they were £21 for 72.I will also do a goody bag for the children.I don't see the point of spending a lot as most favours seem to get left on the table anyway xxx

My cousin is making us a bunch of cupcakes as favours, which will work out to be less than £1 each - we're also getting some novelty coasters made up which will cost 87p each, but we have to order 200 of them (which is fine as there's 150 guests, and no doubt parents etc will want a set rather than just one :-)
