My intended bridesmaids live far away - I had wanted to ask them when i last saw them but there was always someone else around. The next time I see them will be at a wedding show and I really want to ask them before we go. Its both of their birthdays soon
SO i was thinking of sending them their birthday cards and presents and putting in a little card to say something along the lines of IOU one bridesmaids dress, with a little bit about how important they are etc What do you think? Would you be offended if you werent asked in person?

i was asked to be my friends bridesmaid with a card that had a poem about the big day and then asking to be the maid of honour. it was a really nice way to do. especially with the sweets that she had put in the card :-)

so yeah nicsquared a card is defo a good idea and u cant struggle with what u wanna say etc :) u just need to wait for there reply than :) i gave it to mine both personally sil2b didnt open her card as she thought its for moving house and congrats on the new place but it wasnt :) hehe next day she opened it was totally surprised and pleased only thing she doesnt wanna be wearing orange or green :) and my moh loved it as I now know as well :)

with my best bud, I told her when I was planning to propose, by text "How do you feel about being a Maid of Honour babe?" and she got all excited and thought I was already engaged but I told her my plan to propose over valentines weekend 2010 and she was excited for me.
When he said YES I asked my other best bud if she'd be a bridesmaid (but then decided to have 2 MOH's) and my cousin was thrilled when I asked her!
SO just ask the girls (or send them something cute like in your b'day card plan) and I'm sure they'll say YES!!! xxx
