I know there's already a thread about how long you've been together, but I was a little interested to see how old people were when they met their future spouse.
I was also particularly curious about people who've been together a really long time before they got engaged. Why did you eventually choose to get married or had you just been waiting for the question?

We met June 10th 2009 and got engaged June 27th 2010. We get married Sept 1th 2011. I think we are a little old to be hanging around and we want kids etc. I know that sounds rushed but I've been in long relationships and they have not led me to being happy or stable but I am with my h2b. We both know what we want and are both very happy.

I met my fiance when i was 17 - although i'm only 20 now! We will still be quite young when we get married, i'll be 21 nearly 22 and he will be 23. I've always wanted to get married before we have children though since the day I met him and he's always felt the same :-) x

I was 17 when first met Mike and he was 26......i was 18 before we started going out!!
we were together 1 year 6 months when i fell pregnant!
got engaged after 2.5 years
got married just after our 5th year anniversary
will have been together 6 years on 1st august!!! and it just felt right to do how we've gone about doing things :)

I was sixteen when we got together, h2b had just turned 21, weve been together for 13 years now, we got engaged when i was 19 then got engaged to be married last year when i was 28. Marriage for us was something we knew we wanted to do eventually but always said that we were in no rush so 13 years and 3 children later were going for it!! we always said that if we were going to get married we wanted it to be right and now, we feel that we are in a position to have our perfect day :) xxxx

I was 26 and OH was 39 when we met. We were together just over 5 years before he proposed :)

I met my H2B a week B4 my 36th birthday, he was 34 ;) when we marry I will be 40, he will be 37 !!!!!

We got together when I was 19 and he was 22 (it was his 22nd birthday when we met and I was celebrating my 19th), on 10th December 2005. And then we got engaged 7th December 2010. So just under 5 years. I was at uni for three years of our relationship though - we did the long distance thing and saw each other about once a month. Maybe if we'd met later in life or I hadn't gone to uni, we would have got engaged earlier. Or not - maybe the long distance relationship made us stronger - I think it was harder for him than for me. But that saying 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' is definitely true. We should know - five months after we met, I went off to America for three months and left him in the UK! Nice little prep for the next three years haha! x

ive been with my h2b 5yrs, 6 wen we get married, but my sister met her hubby when they were both 16, niether been with anyone else -together 10yrs now and got married last yr- which is really sweet i thinkx

We were both 22 when we met, and he proposed after about 3 1/2 years together. Fairly standard, it seems! We're getting married, on our 4 1/2 year "anniversary," though we didn't pick the date with that in mind.

We've been together (albeit with some breaks!) since Feb 2006 so over 5 years now (blimey!!)- wasn't really waiting for 'the' question but Dan said we weren't allowed to have any more kids without getting wed first. So he proposed last year (March I think?) and we're getting married this December. I know that despite all his faults there is no-one out there better suited to me- And I will be very proud to be Mrs Roper on our wedding day. :-)

we go together 5th june 2009 he moved in on the 21st june 2009. had our daughter 1st september 2010 and got engaged on 16th october 2010 on my 23rd birthday :D and were getting married 26th may 2012. i was 21 when we met and he was 23

We got together on his birthday 16th feb 2004. He was twenty I was nearly 19. We had our little boy in July 2008 and we got engaged Xmas day just gone. Been together 7 years now and have booked our wedding for 7th July 2012 when we will be 27 and 28.

We met in September 2008, I was 18 and he was 17 but this was online... through Ventrilo and WoW. Then met for the first time almost a year later in June 2009, we got engaged within 6 months, and it's our 2nd anniversary on July 5th! So we'll have been together a little over 2 years when we get married. A lot of people think we're moving fast as well but this is what feels right for us :)
I was engaged before when I was younger, this was after being in a relationship for almost 3 years and we were over within months, this time I knew within days of meeting Peter that he was the one!
Got married 27th June and blessed on July 5th 2012

I met John may 2008, He proposed on valentines 2010 :) and we will be married 29th October this year. I was 22 when we met john was 26(he turned 27 on our 3rd date... lol) and we will be 26 & 30 when we get married :D

Chris and I met when we were 17, started going out a little after his 18th birthday (I'm a couple months younger) and he proposed a few weeks after our 4 year anniversary. Although we had decided we wanted to get married when we were 20, but we held off because we were at university... and then we had to wait out 2 engagements before we could make ours official.
