We got 4 bags of love heart sweets from a shop somewhere for £1 each, we spent a fiver on the favour boxes and I got some rock candies for about 69p a bag so probably about a tenner for 50 favours.

I think mine will come in about 80p per person, all depending on what kind of sweets I put in them.

The boxes I'm getting are about £1.
    And the favours are £1-£1.50.
So total £2.50 each unless I can get the boxes cheaper.

Umm, 100 guests, I have got enough for 105 guests in case we get a few more acceptances than we thought we'd get.

£210 on cancer research donation (£2 per guest and we get donation cards to give to our guests)
£2 for the Chinese wedding red packets to put them in
£16 for the gold chocolate coins also to go in the red packets with the donation cards.

So I guess approx. £2.20 per favour but given the majority is a donation to a charity H2B and I feel are really worthy of the money I say every penny is well spent xx

I couldnt decide what favours to go for originally but found a really good website, and have opted for the simple organza bags & then 5 chocolate hearts in each. You traditionally used to have almond dragees in a bag didnt you, to represent health, happiness, life etc etc but lots of people dislike nuts so chocolates it is!

The bags came to 23p each, and then bags of 100 chocolates were £11.45, so with a couple of offers it works out to 57p for the chocolate per bag so in total 80p per bag and we have ordered enough so that everybody including the evening guests get favours too.

£15 for the Venus Fly Trap Kit with Eden Project Jute Bag and then was going to add in Just Married Love Hearts into the bag two rolls each for 100 rolls £60 and then I wanted to give them little favour candles with our logo on and wedding date I think their about £2.70 something each but think may be able to get them cheaper at a wedding show closer to the time
Im wondering whether to get gifts for per person or per family I know my wedding party will have one each deffo with a bracelet for the bridesmaids and cufflinks for the men because my favours are going to be rather costly =D ♥ X

Glad there's a variety lol, we are thinking of doing jam jars with either candles in or sweets or jam with fabric lid covers. And think for £200 day and evening will come to about just under £1 pp hopefully x

We're making a charitable donation, and will probably also give something edible (but cheap; maybe a couple of chocolate truffles, so some sweets or something); probably about £3 pp in total? We only have 50 guests though.

Have to say I don't really 'get' favours and hadn't even heard of them until we started wedding planning! I guess I figure we're already spending upwards of £100 a head on our guests just for food and drink, so I'm not convinced an additional 'gift' is needed lol.

I agree with Barbie86. Its going to cost enough for the wedding so I don't feel the need to be too extravagent on favours! At the moment i'm thinking about buying some plant seeds in bulk and then making my own favours to tie in with the tables, so for example if you're on the "sweet pea" table you'll get sweet pea seeds. That way it'll also tie in with my invites that i'm planning to print myself on plantable seeded paper. My logic is its only really the mums that ever keep the invites so I'd rather they got planted and turned into flowers than got recycled. At the end of the day people are there to see you get married and have a nice day, not go home with a load of presents...

H2B and I decided that we will have 100 guests and invited more than that as some will decline the invitation. So I ordered 105 of the cancer research donation cards and paid the extra £10 in case more accepted that we planned for.
