Hi all, just wondering how much people are paying for their cake? I have a quote for the exact cake I want for approx £300. Its a 3 tierd stacked cake, 2 sponge, 1 chocolate, complete with decoration?? Does this sound like a good price? Its for approx 100 guests? x

My sister made ours - a 3 tier choc orange sponge, lemon sponge and small top tier of fruit - so we didn't have to pay anything for it. But I was told to budget up to £500 for our cake. I was stunned - all we wanted was something really simple, but apparently, that's how much a 3 tier for up to 100 people costs. I'm still shocked, tbh!
So, with that in mind, I think that you have yourself a good deal there :)

My 3 tier cake is £300. There is a vanilla, chocolate and fruit tier. We only saw one cake maker so not sure how the price relates to other cake makers.

All the quotes I've had have been between £380-500: that's for a 4 tier (fruit; lemon; chocolate; sponge) with fairly minimal decoration. I'm in the London/Berks area, which is quite expensive.

The cost usually depends on the size and amount of decoration :-)

We are having top tier fruit and 4 tiers of miniature cakes (56 of them in coffee and walnut and lemon,)) as our main cake and 30 extra cupcakes(strawberry and vanilla) to put on our sweetie station and it's come to £310. Which I was pleasantly surprised with.

Well I went today and we are having a cupcake tower with one tier at the top to cut. To feed 80 guests, 60 cupcakes and a cake for 20 it's going to cost us 200. I'm really pleased with that x x

i'm just getting ours from spencer of marks and paying £220 for a 3 tier with sponge, chocolate and fruit and ivory roses. I don't think £300 a bad deal but £500 but be abit steep for me personally for a cake x

My nan is making me a 2 tier fruit cake and Im getting the groom a little sponge cake of his own (probably with a funny cake topper on) and its just costing ingredients, my original quote was for £450 for a 3 tier sponge with minimal decoration.
