I'm getting my cake for £150. It's three tiers and feeds 70 with two tiers of normal sponge and one tier of carrot cake. It's in my photos, the green one with white flowers and little birds on top :) It's taken a long time to find someone to do this price.
What kind of cake are you wanting?

That sounds really yummy! Have you tried asking around for people that may not advertise? Eg someone's auntie that does cakes? Our cake lady is a family friend of a girl who works for my sister/moh. She used to do it professionally but now only as favours and a hobby. She's fully trained and got an impressive portfolio, someone like this may save you a few pounds if you have any luck.

We had one tier shaped as an open book. It was quite big and fed over 60 people - and cost £117 which included the cake toppers which were made for us.

As on budget, I am making my own. Probably three tiers - I have done it before for parents in law's 40th wedding anniversary. It was white with fresh roses and was lovely. h2b doesn't like shop bought cakes as he's funny with not knowing what's in the cake so is very happy that I am making it lol...

my cake is a round 3 tier white cake with butterflys (very plain and simple but elegant)Its in my album, 1 tier is chocolate sponge then theirs a normal sponge then finially a marble sponge, it also will be made using Ganache (don't ask me i have no idea) this cake is £325 (this is cheapest), but my lovely grandparents are buying us this
i think the simpler the cake is the cheaper it is, the more fancy and decrotive it is the more it will be! x

Mine's 3 tier, top fruit, then coffee, then lemon on the bottom. Costing about £50 with trial as I'm doing my own!

If you want to save a fortune you can buy fruit ones already iced in supermarkets and decorate yourself, probably cheaper than buying all the fruit etc. x
