In May this year, I emailed the hotel I planned to use for my wedding night. This hotel was the hotel we stayed at the night before H2B proposed as thought it would be a great place to start our Honeymoon. Well in may they gave me a quote and said that guest relations would be dealing with the booking so upgrades, etc could be dealt with as it would be our wedding night. Well last night I emailed again, and now the quote has nearly doubled! and the upgrade offer has completely gone out the window. The lady who replied this time didnt even mention it!!
Surely they can't charge that much for what I'm asking especially if they have already given me a quote. I reckon it's cos of the Olympics!!
Any other nice hotels near heathrow T4 with parking onsite would be great help. The one I want are planning on charging me £350ish for the what I want.

this is why one of the criteria for my venue was to have guest rooms in! i dint want the hassle and wanted to stay where we was etc

Unfortunetly it is 100% because of the Olympics, I'm a travel agent and the cost of London hotels are ridiculous for that time. Unless you had a confirmed booking unfortunetly they can do whatever they like with the price. There would have been T's and C's either on the email or there website that prices and availability are subject to change until a confirmed booking has been made.
Good Luck hun xxx

Thanks hun. Problem is, when I look on other websites they quote the hotel for the price I had originally been quoted. Seems stupid that the other websites charge less, but the hotel website charges ridiculous amounts. x

They may have a contractual rate I find that with a lot of the chain hotels. Customers will look on their website and get a price but when we look through other companies its cheaper.
Why not book through the other websites and then make your wedding night requests through them and hope for a free upgrade. You could also email the hotel and advise them of the company you've booked with and the night so they no to expect your booking.
its stupid that they do this! my best friend is getting married next september and the hotel we are staying at for her weddding has nearly doubled their prices!!
if you can get that hotel cheaper on a diferent website i would just book it. once you pay they cant then ask you for more money xx

Hun, sorry to hear that its doubled. Maybe say you know the prices have gone up etc but can they at least still honor the upgrade offer? as last time you was intouch with them they promised it? Good luck hunny hope something gets sorted xx

We have already looked at hotels for when we leave on honeymoon. We are flying from gatwick mid august and even gatwick the prices have gone through the roof. So we have now decided we are going to drive and leave car in hotel parking for the week

NO WAY! Have you still got the original email? You could print it out and take it down to them and tell them you want ur original quote.. Fact is, they probably knew about the olympics at the time u asked for the quote so they dont really have an excuse.. Worth a try anyways. Im so sorry to hear that your plans are being made impossible :( no fair x

Unfortunately I think most quotes are only valid when they're booked and confirmed, if you hadn't secured it then I think the hotel are within their rights to change the price - but you could contact the manager and try a sympathy vote?

olympics aren't starting till end of july hun... so ain't because of it... depending on occupancy etc if they got groups or so in how big it is etc... as i work in a hotel I know what i'm talking about...could be many reasons why the prices are going up really...
sometimes its better to book instead of just getting a quote as for example we change sometimes our prices during the day... (working at Gatwick having over 800 rooms)

Enny, My wedding is 11th august (during olympics) and im flying out the next day. the one i did contact has already confirmed to be that due to the olympics they have ahd to increase prices and no upgrade offer is available due to high demand. i have spent all day searching for alternatives. a few hotels have told me that they wont have prices at this time. but there is one i have emailed. it a family run business. its an old victorian house with an old large stable that has been converted into a hotel with a mix of rooms. it looks amazing and is not stupidly priced! just waiting for a replay back. but the room isnt able to be booked until beginning of year. already checked on website lol xx
