I had that idea originally but decided against it and bought a pair of shoes from Next with a heel I should last in.

Try high street stores like Next, Debenhams, BHS, New Look etc for shoes, maybe you'll be lucky and find a decent pair for the right cost.

I really splashed out on my shoes - well I was going to get plain ones, but then h2b wrote a poem for the invite and wanted to use "Melly" (which I hate) so in exchange for me allowing that I got some gorgeous shoes (£209) and also for them to be dyed to match our scheme (£30) pics in profile if you want to see them! (on the plus side I will be able to wear them again!)

Have a look in my album. Mine has a few crystals on them. I think they are called dragon if they still do them. The heal isn't that big on them either.

Oooh, I sawa Four Wedding US the other day and one of the brides had a 'converse' reception and asked all guests to wear converse! Great idea and it worked really well, with everyone admiting how nice it was not to have aching feet after the long day.
I got given my shoes from a friend of mine who got married last year, so mine were my favourite price - free! I wouldn't have paid over £50 for them though. How about you try some on in some shops then look on the bay of e for some (make sure you note down their make and model though)? Or like the other ladies say, you can get some good deals in the high street. Hx

I understand what you're saying. My friend got married 3 years ago and worse some silver-ish shoes by Merell, who make hiking boots, sandals etc. They were hardly seen under her floor-length skirt and it made lots of sense for the outdoor-sy reception.

I think she was very comfortable. But personally I want some height!! Though I'm not prepared to be in pain. So looking hard for the right shoe.

Have you looked at Rainbow Club- they've got some great value shoes and for the brand "Else", they custom dye for free. I'm getting a pair from Else for £59 (assuming its not the most uncomfortable shoes in the world).

As for the high street, I work at a New Look and we do have some lovely ivory and white shoes. Although we don't seem to have a grey areas between high heels and flats in a lot of styles. It's worth a browse- the shoes I have from New Look are the most comfortable I have (and I'm not just saying that as an employee- although wearing them for at least 4 hours does test a shoe's comfort)

I bought wedding boots first, cost £70 odd but then decided I needed to go higher... so bought heeled shoes for £25 instead. Figured they will all go on ebay afterwards anyway so hopefully get some money back!

I looked for a whole week for my shoes then ended up finding them in a small bridal shop. They had discontinued their shoe range and she was like 'they're last season, is that OK?'. Like I'd know! My shoes are Katz and only cost £20. They're so pretty and comfy.

i got my shoes from a small discount shoe shop, i actually went in to buy my daughter some school shoes lol my dress is light gold/champagne and i saw a pair of gold slightly sparkly heels (not too high, approx 2-3 inches) and they cost me a grand total of £8! bargain, as i did feel i didnt want to send too much on shoes for 1 day, i dont normally wear heels and when i do i stick to black lol i would say try the bay of e or high street shops :) x
