Im just wondering how much people have paid for their venues,we are booking a beautiful venue for 100 guests and for a three course meal and good slection for a buffet it coasts six grand,is it too dear? Some people are saying it is but its his family and the ones that arent married so I dont know if its just jealousy or whether it is expensive, but we have priced around and think its average?

Yeah ours would have been less if we went for the lower package but that would mean getting our own centrepieces, balloons, ceremony music and toastmaster and if we didn't get enough guests to stay on site we would have to pay for the bridal suite

I think six grand is good and you can get a dj and other bits if you shop around at fairly reasonable prices. It all depends on your budget. I have had to compromise on other things as our budget has crept right up :P xxx

We're looking a seperate venue for the ceremony and evening reception/party. It looks like it'll cost £1,500 for both, that's without any catering etc.....this will be for 40 guests in the morning and around 60 in the evening. x

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

We are hiring a hall in Oakham for around £800, providing the food ourselves (my h2b works for food company and can get lovely food cheap) so that will be around £400 for 60 guests, will provide drinks for toast and couple of bottles per table to get them started so around £200, dj around £300, and £400 for venue dressing, comes to £2100 for that part of the day, but what you are paying is a good price for 100 guests and what you get for it. Don't listen to anyone else, even if it was expensive it is your wedding and that is all that matters. xx

sounds good to me. we're paying £6,200 for 70 day guests (welcome drink, toast drink & 3 course meal, tea & coffee) and 160 evening guests (finger buffet) and that includes chair covers as well. it wasn't the cheapest venue we looked at but was def the nicest :) x

our's is costing £7,500 for exclusiveity without any food. we are thinking of having about 85 to the dayy at £100 per head and an extra 100 for the evening at £15 per head so we got a LOT of saving still to do!!!!!!!! xxx
