I've not tried any on yet because I don't know what a reasonable budget is?
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
It's not a case of what a reasonable budget it, but more what YOUR budget is. My dress was meant to be £1500 however I knew someone who worked with the store and she got me a discount so cost me £950, and was also able to pay in installments which made it easier.

"reasonable" is based on individual financial situations ...
i had two dresses one cost me £35 to have made fore me the other £230 ( down from £1500 with a sale then a bit of haggling)
It really depends on your budget. One of my favourites was £2,010! If I hadn't found a new favourite after that I would have paid it. The new, better favourite is £100! That said, it's coming from china and I may hate it when it arrives!
CommentAuthorMrsC
My dress was £900. I didnt want to pay that much (and honestly the whole wedding dress shopping experience wasn't nice for me) but DH chose it in the end so who am I to argue with that :)
My dress was £435 with measured length of £40 so £475
Their measured length runs long regular and short. I am a short and even with 3 inch heels i still need 2 inches taking off the hem lop they go to 42 shortest im 40 (Im a dinky 5ft haha) xx

My budget for dress and all accessories was £1000 but got my dress for £650 from an outlet.

My dress was £715 including the petticoat but the bridal shop have also told me to allow a max of £150 for alterations...so potentially £865 altogether. Hope this helps :) Good luck finding your dream dress xx
CommentAuthor*KelBel*
I think it depends..sometimes it doesn't matter how much your dress is if it's your dream dress. I was lucky I found my dream dress for £500 as a sample dress down from £1650 x

Mine was £1300 I tried on dresses ranging from £800 to £2000, it's all about how much are you able/willing to pay for the right dress.
If I'd have found the same dress to be more or less, I think I'd have paid whatever it was just to have this one!

It depends on what you can afford and are prepared to pay.
My dress was supposed to be £1500 but I got it for £999 because the boutique owner let me have the sample dress (it was a small size for a sample dress) as she'd just decided to stop selling that designer.
Set your budget and stick to it. You can pick up a dress for as little as £200 but at the top end can pay up to £25,000. Most brides I think pay anywhere from £800 to £2000.

Actually I'm using this wedding planning website, and they help you to distribute your budget lol When you say how much you want to spend on the whole wedding, it tells you how much you should spend on each thing. It told me that I could spend about £480, but then I thought it was too much and found this lovely dress around £200 :D
CommentAuthorFlossie
I'm aiming for between £1000 and £1300 - my mum has very, very kindly said she is happy to pay for my dress, but she was actually e expecting to pay even more than that and was shocked that I wanted one less expensive..!!! x

Mine was £295 and I totally love it, it was reduced though. I was expecting around £900 and my dad offered to pay. He was hugely surprised with the £295, especially since it's the one I've always wanted

Deffantly depends on your budget, mine is £500. Dresses can be really really expensive. If you don't want to spend a lot go along to bridal shop designer days (you can get a designer dress fro a discount) or when the shop has sales you can get beautiful dresses for half the price in a sale :). Xx

Wow Nikki. £15k! Could you show some pics to a seamstress and see what price she can give you? It could be almost identical for a tiny fraction of the price!!

I got my dream dress for £625 reduced from £1300 as an ex sample in perfect condition. It will need slight alterations though. Because I saved so much I even bought a second dress for the evening which I paid £100 for reduced from £1000! Bargain, I've always wanted two dresses. My second dress is also an ex sample in perfect condition. Both are mor1 1ee :-)

Mine was £450, as it was a sample that the shop was selling. Otherwise it would have been £900. I did love one that was at least £3000, but I wanted more detail on the back than it gave me. It was stunning, and had I not found anything else I might have paid that, but I didn't want to spend that much as we wanted to keep money back to do up the house ready to sell and upsize.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.

My dream dress is £4000 there's no way I can justify that spend I am hoping there's one on Ebay that's being sold for £3000 less lol (not likely) I don't want to spend more then £700...reasonable just depends on your own budget..I want my £4k dress I have literally been saving all my pennies for it...but it won't happen so I will make do with a cheaper option! boohoo :D xxx

I tried on about 50 dresses and the one I mainly fell in love with was £2500, which I couldn't justify or afford to spend! I'm getting mine bespoke made, depending on fabric costs (I'm in the process of choosing them), my dress should cost around £1200
CommentAuthorCharlotteE98
My budget was around £1200 but the dress, veil and jewellery came to just over £1500 altogether. I'm having straps added to mine and got a small discount on the veil. I also tried on some very expensive dresses and some very cheap ones but the one I've chosen is 'middle of the road' in price and the shop have been fantastic. It pays to shop around :o)
CommentAuthorEmmaG
My dress is £1500 ,I didn't want it to go over that price and keep going up , so I managed to bargain with them to give me a free veil, hoop and any alterations for free and she said she would give me a £100 off aswell as she had given some vouchers recently at a wedding fair.. Def ask as all shops are happy to do something to get the deal, its the shop who decides the price not the designer :)

Luckily I've lost over a stone and a half so far from both pregnancies so at least it'll be taken in and not out lol!

CommentAuthorbeximo86
Mine is 1250 without alterations, but the seamstress that the shop use told me it will be no more than £50, so £1300 all in. My veil is my something borrowed, so that saved some money. The first dress that I thought I had fallen in love with (clearly not!) was only £625, but with all the alterations I wanted to do to make it more 'me' I was still looking to spend around £1000. I always said no more than £1000 for my dress but I utterly fell in love with my dress, it was the only one that made me cry x
CommentAuthorAmyM8
Mine cost 900 but the shop had 15% off orders placed that month so got it for less.
