We're meeting a woman this evening who is a potential to dress our venue. I'm just unsure of how much we should be paying? I know it depends on how big the venue is and how many chairs there are but what are people paying per chair cover, for any table decorations, e.g scatter crystals, place names, favours, is anyone hiring fairy lights for columns, backdrops etc. Oh and is anyone hiring a letter box for cards??
I just need to have a approx figure in my head to make sure I'm not going to be charged through the roof

I am paying £1.65 per chair which includes the sash and the chair cover with fitting, however this was a winter offer. She is normally £2.10 per chair i belive. Backdrops seem to around £200-£250, we are having top table swags which cost £25, aisle runner with flower petals £20, table runners are £8 per table.

I am not hiring the centre pieces as i think they are an aboustle fortune, we were looking about £25 each to hire a fishbowl, when we can make our own for about £15.

    Hope this helps! xx

Oh wow! I think this woman seems quite cheap then. I've come across some that want to charge £2.50 per chair and this seemed far too much. I'll update when we get back later.

our table decorations and chair covers are included in our price from our venure so cant help with that but a starlight backdrop we have a quote for £240

as fer table decor like crystals we have made our own from off cuts of our home made invite so we have saved a bunch there

Ok so we're back and we've booked her! She's fab

    She's charged us:

£1.50 per chair - cover, sash and sparkly buckle
    £2 per table runner
£2 per table for scatter crystals
£5 per column of fairy lights
£25 for an ivory royal mail style letter box for cards (cheapest I'd seen elsewhere was £60)
£20 for a wishing tree - with hanging tags for people to sign instead of a guest book

I dont want a backdrop but out of curiosity I asked and she hires it for £100!!

She showed us her stuff which is beautiful and tied some sashes for us to see what looks best. Gave me so much confidence in her!

    Yay!! I'm so excited

    xx

Wow those are good prices! The cheapest I've seen so far (well, I've only come across 2 venue decorators so far, but their prices were about double that!!).Whereabouts are you based? If it's South London/Kent way, could you pop her website or details on my wall please?? Thanks! x
