i just got a quote for my dj from 6pm till midnight and including lights, insurance, equipment everything is £300 (he did give us a discount as we are friends with him on book of face) does this sound reasonable or expensive? he also said that he wont just play any random stuff and if we give him a genre he will stick to it for us so we dont end up with music that isnt what we listen to on a regular basis. i think it sounds pretty good but i wanna compare what you other ladies are paying so i know if i am getting a good deal or not.

We've been quoted £150 for our DJ, the hotel where we are having a reception have a list of DJ's they give business to and that's what they cost. I think it depends what day and time of year too, ours is a friday night in October and i think most DJ's will play your list that you want. MY brother is a DJ and gets all sorts of requests obviously he's not doing our wedding lol

we are paying £250 for ours, he is our venues resident dj and will also play what we want, we just have to give him a playlist before the wedding. i think anywhere between £200 and £300 is a good price

£300 seems to be about the going rate.
Our DJ is included with our package but not sure if we will be using him.

see our venue dont have a resident dj as it is used for sixthform students for a school. they have caterers though and a fireworks company :-) so we get discounted fireworks! :-D now i am worrying about the mics for the speeches as i dont know if we're going to have any..... oh dear
