it all depends on the church, im sure theres another thread about this and the difference people are paying is quite a big difference.
ours is a methodist church and its costing us £235, thats for, church, minister, organist and steward. we also have to pay a lady seperate for doing flowers for the church,(not that expensive but not sure the final amount) which are left in the church for the sunday service then on the monday they are taken to local sick people and oaps who have no family around , which i am quite happy about and dont mind paying for. x

21st October 2011 will be the best day of my life!!!

Ours was just under £300 for Church, Organ, verger, bell, and flowers. Banns was seperate-£34 each to our own parishes. However it was supposed to be more but we weren't charged for somethings at vicars discretion.

Mines like Ekielty. We have to make a donation to the church, so we're giving £100 and the organist is £50. The lady who does the flowers every week in church has said to us to let her know our flowers, give her the money and she will get them at the market and make them up for us for free (gonna save us a bit). Our church bells are electric so they're doin that for free cos its only a case of flicking a swich. We're currently searching bay of e for pew ends now. x

This is copied off of wiki for the explanation of Banns...

The banns of marriage, commonly known simply as "the banns" or "bans" (from a Middle English word meaning "proclamation," rooted in Old French[1]) are the public announcement in a Christian parish church of an impending marriage between two specified persons. It is commonly associated with the Church of England and with other denominations whose traditions are similar; the Roman Catholic Church abolished the requirement in 1983.

The purpose of banns is to enable anyone to raise any canonical or civil legal impediment to the marriage, so as to prevent marriages that are invalid. Impediments vary between legal jurisdictions, but would normally include a pre-existing marriage that has been neither dissolved nor annulled, a vow of celibacy, lack of consent, or the couple's being related within the prohibited degrees of kinship.

This figure is based on a couple living at the same address and marrying outside their own parish and includes:

the fee set by law payable to the church: £262
    your marriage certificate: £3.50
having your banns read at the home church: £22
having your banns read at the church where you will marry: £22
    your banns certificate: £12
    Total legal fee: £321.50

    Hope this helps xx

Ours is CofE church. Banns an certificate £34,church service £448 plus £16 for red carpet and £58 for candle array at the front. This is without having to pay for flowers, choir, organist, bells etc which are quite expensive so I think we will just have some flowers!! They charge a fortune for the bells and when I re read it they just play a recording of them!!

The flowers are extra but really not expensive at all it'll be around £75 for pew ends and bows etc it's amazing the difference in prices. My aunties church costs more as they don't do many weddings, but mine does loads so is all prepped for them xx
