    Hey gals and guys!

Just wondering if anyone could give me a rough estimate of what im looking at for real flowers?
Im going to go hunting tomorow to try and find a bargin but I dont have a clue what I should be expecting them to say.
In my head im thinking £250?! Is this too little?

    Im wanting one bouquet
    1 little bouquet
    9 flowers for button holes
and 4 thankyou bouquets...although im wondering if these would be cheaper to buy the night before from asda or something! lol

My bouquet is expensive at £150 but its unusually. I'm also having 8 button holes around £2 each and 3 thank you flowers but I chose the price I wanted to pay for that. If you find the right florist your budget will be doable I think. Just don't go for the first one.

I think real are a waste of money coz they're expensive and then they die... I've got foam roses which I can keep forever... Everyone's different but I just don't see the point in real x

Ideally I'd like my flowers preserved, anyone know anywhere that would do this? Ideally Essex area?

I hung my bouquet upside down, suspended in a cupboard (in the dark and not too warm) for 3 weeks and it worked out fine! the leaves went brown... and the colours do go darker... but least i've still got it :) x

Im having my bouquet, 3 for my bridesmaids, 8 table arrangements, 1 pedestal flower arrangements, 8 button holes, 2 corsages for mums and nan. Total is £750. It was the table arrangements that boosted it up. With my bouquet im going to put it on my mans grave the following day, she passed away in september and is buried with a picture of me in my wedding dress. The wedding dress shop let me borrow their dress to go and show my nan in the hospice. She is also buried at the church where i am getting married.xx

I'd say £250 should easily do it; as a guide, my bouquet (which is very large) is going to cost £80, my smaller bridesmaids ones £40 (though these will still be a decent size), and the button holes £5 each; so, on this basis (which was pretty average for the flowers I was looking at), you should get the bouquets and button-holes for around £165, leaving £85 (or roughly £20 each) for the thank you's.

My advice would be to speak to a few florists close to your venue, and see what your budget will get you; some flowers are more expensive than others, for eg, or some have larger heads, so fewer are needed. But yes, I think you should def get what you want within budget :-)

It all depends on what flowers you want, how many items you need (which you've already stated) and where you go.

A small but lovely and family run florist in my opinion is best. Designer florists and branches of larger companies tend to charge more, whereas the family run places are willing to help you more readily to work within a budget.

Seasonal flowers are best price wise.

I'm going for good old peonies, 1 hand tied bouquet for me, 3 junior hand tied bouquets peonies AND roses and just the one buttonhole. The lot is coming to £99.95

Also in regards to the real vs fake debate. I want real as my intention for the bouquets after the wedding is to place them at the graves of the dear family members who weren't there with us.

It depends on the season. Certain flowers grow and bloom naturally at specific times of the year, wanting flowers out of season makes them more expensive. It would be worth finding out what flowers grow naturally around the time of your wedding. I've had expensive quotes for flowers where I live so I decided on fake flowers.
