How much are you getting charged for corkage if your bringing in your own wine? What do you think is a acceptable charge?

we are being charged £10 a bottle! However, we are going to France for some "champagne" thats only Euro 4.96 a bottle, and the venue's cheapest offering was Prosecco at £24.95 a bottle - so even with corkage we are still better off. How much are you being charged? x

Somewhere we considered was £10 a bottle and somewhere else was £7.50

One venue we looked at charged £10 per bottle, the one we went with doesn't charge corkage but that's because the bar doesn't open until 7pm, so self serve until then.

See we got quoted £10 pb, and £12 for sparkling, and they have to approve the wine, (no cheap nasty stuff) seeming as the wine my FMIL is planning on getting is £12pb and then another £10 on top seems like a right rip off.

Ours is only £5 per bottle for wine and sparkling wine, and £6 per bottle for champagne, and I thought that was a lot! Xxx

OMG ours is in a castle (hotel) and is charging around £25 per bottle. I nearly fell off the chair when they told us....

wow the golf club we looked at a while ago is charging £4 a bottle wine or champers, nothing for soft drinks.

Haven't you mentioned before that MIL2B is the only one who wants wine and is insisting on having her own?
Can't you say that yes she can have wine there but because it will be there just for her could she also pay the cork-age?
CommentAuthorWhovianbride
Well if she want to bring in her own wine, im not paying for the wine or the corkage, so its down to her if she wants to pay that much.

That's fair enough then, as long as you give her the prices I wouldn't worry about it, she can make the decision whether or not to bring wine

We are getting married in our local village hall (it had a bar) and because paul used to work at the social club (that's linked to the hall) and the manager is his dads next door neighbour, they aren't charging us any corkage :) x
