We're having a burger buffet, a sweet table and a snack bar. We were advised to cater for 2/3s of the evening guests for the evening burger buffet. We're thinking of catering for less as with the sweet table and the snack bar there's going to be a lot of food. And those who are just evening guests will be arriving at around 8-8:30 so I don't think they'd be eating that much?
We're probably going to have around 120 people evening guests altogether. We're having about 12 big jars for the sweet table, the snack bar will consists of a pimp your cupcake, donuts, and random snacks (crisps/popcorn etc). So we were thinking of catering for about 50 people for the evening burger buffet? The caterer said that it will be 2 burgers per person. Do you think that'll be enough? The reason we don't wanna do 2/3s like advised is because we don't want food to go to waste!

The sweet table and snack bar will go like a shot as they are easy to take and always popular. How big are the burgers? I'm surprised that your supplier is saying 2 per person, I could understand it if it was your main meal but not for an evening buffet. I would do the 2/3s , if not a lot of people are eating you can offer to staff/DJ/band and you can always organise for a charity to come pick some up if you are really worried about wastage.

Yeah 2 burgers per person seems quite a lot, we were told cater for 80% of guests but as you have sweets and other nibbles I would say 1 burger is enough
Love the idea of giving wastage to charity too :-) xx
