£1200 for a deposit!?!?!?! is that not sky high?!? maybe its just me lol

Ok so after getting over the shock of that this morning i e-mailed the hotel that we had originally looked at and to my surprise it was cheaper than we first thought,

    Getting wedding breakfast for 60
    2 drinks
    buffet for 100
    ceremony room hire
all menus, place cards, table planner
    mirror plates for tables
    room for night

all for £2800!!! and i think we may also get 10% of that price as its in october :D:D so excited back to feeling positive now :D

We had to pay £750 deposit and our venue helped us out on timings :0)
You wont know if you dont ask :0)

I think £500 is the most common deposit required, though I went to one place in Stamford and they were asking for £1000, which we were not prepared to pay, and it is just as well as we had to cancel our original wedding and we would have lost it. On the up side it is taken off the final amount and it just means less to save up for at the end but it is a lot of money to ask up front, not many people can afford to come up with that amount. Good luck in finding something else! x
