£1200 for mine after a £50 discount and a free veil thrown in. Because I'm getting my BM dresses there that gives me an extra 10% off their dresses, and MOB outfit also from there with 10% discount too. I absolutely love my dress and is just new in so no great deals on it x

Mine was quite a lot - £1239.20 including a free veil and reduced from £1549. Was a little bit more than I initially budgeted for but knew it was 'the' dress as soon as I saw it on the rack. I know that all eyes will be on me and my dress on the day. x
CommentAuthorRaggedyAnne
mine was £100, but due to it being the wrong colour .....I am now in the market for a new dress. I am probably going to just make a skirt , as I bought a lovely satin bodice from Ebay, so the skirt will likely cost £40-50 for the fabric.
I can resist anything but temptation

Just bumping this thread up, as I'm going shopping for a dress for the first time tomorrow.
I have no idea what I'm looking for, and we don't really have a set budget for a dress, but I know I don't want to spend more than £1000.
Should I tell them at the shop my budget is £750 with some wriggle room?
Any suggestions?
Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan
CommentAuthorShellbell
I'm hoping to spend no more than £500 although we have budgeted £800 for mine and my daughters dress. xx

I took full advantage of the closure of 8h5 and got my dress for £37. I had set a budget for £500 beforehand. W3d28 have dresses up to around the £500 mark.
On a side note, don't tell them you have wiggle room otherwise they will bring dresses over the price. It also gives you less chance of bartering them down! x

Maxine i wouldnt tell them there is wriggle room or else they think you have an extra £500 sitting around lol!! They can usually d discounts so if you tell them the max youll pay is £750 then they may put you in dresses from 1000 and under so they can give you a discount and then they will probably ask if you can pay any extra. You can also buy dresses of the rack for cheaper, and alot of bridal shops have sales and discount days so just ask them when they are :)
I went to quite a few different wedding shops, dresses various from 300-2300 roughly! The average of the ones I was trying on was 900-1100 ish, but i had a particular style in mind that i liked.
My mum paid £1150 for my dress, veil, underskirt and tiara. We got a 15% discount too as it was a designer weekend xx

Maxine I can see you are not too far from me. There's a bridal store just down the road which sell dresses £1500 and under. There were loads under £1000. I nearly bought a dress from there but my mum didn't like it. I will pop the name of the store on your wall.

My dress is £1150. My mum splashed out for me and say she would have gone up to £2000. I do feel bad about it but its not often at all thats shes ever beeb so lose on the purse strings so she must have really wanted to get it.

My dress was £1250 although I was very lucky as my mum paid for it. She also paid for my alterations which were around £100 and my veil which I think was around £170. She thought she got herself a bargain though as she'd always had it in her head that I'd want a wedding dress that was about £5000!!!!

Mine cost £1300, my original budget given to me by my future in laws (they have brought my dress) was £1000 but they extended because the dress I fell in love with was over budget and I was going to pay the extra myself, but they wouldn't allow me to... And have paid it in full so I'm very blessed and lucky to have them both :) I'll pay for alterations veil and accessories myself haven't chose any as yet xx

My dress was £1275 and I have paid £75 for my veil, £45 for my tiara and £37 for my petticoat/hoop.
Would have had a cheaper dress if I had stopped looking when I first made my mind up. My parents offered to pay for it, it was the only dress that made my parents cry !
