My sister said she will pay for my dress as my present I love my sister :-)

The two I have been looking at are £1200 and £1300 which I thought was a bit much so offered to pay half but she told me off lol

mine was £100, but due to it being the wrong colour .....I am now in the market for a new dress. I am probably going to just make a skirt , as I bought a lovely satin bodice from Ebay, so the skirt will likely cost £40-50 for the fabric.

Just bumping this thread up, as I'm going shopping for a dress for the first time tomorrow.

I have no idea what I'm looking for, and we don't really have a set budget for a dress, but I know I don't want to spend more than £1000.

Should I tell them at the shop my budget is £750 with some wriggle room?

    Any suggestions?

Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan

I took full advantage of the closure of 8h5 and got my dress for £37. I had set a budget for £500 beforehand. W3d28 have dresses up to around the £500 mark.

On a side note, don't tell them you have wiggle room otherwise they will bring dresses over the price. It also gives you less chance of bartering them down! x

Maxine i wouldnt tell them there is wriggle room or else they think you have an extra £500 sitting around lol!! They can usually d discounts so if you tell them the max youll pay is £750 then they may put you in dresses from 1000 and under so they can give you a discount and then they will probably ask if you can pay any extra. You can also buy dresses of the rack for cheaper, and alot of bridal shops have sales and discount days so just ask them when they are :)

I went to quite a few different wedding shops, dresses various from 300-2300 roughly! The average of the ones I was trying on was 900-1100 ish, but i had a particular style in mind that i liked.

My mum paid £1150 for my dress, veil, underskirt and tiara. We got a 15% discount too as it was a designer weekend xx

Maxine I can see you are not too far from me. There's a bridal store just down the road which sell dresses £1500 and under. There were loads under £1000. I nearly bought a dress from there but my mum didn't like it. I will pop the name of the store on your wall.

And have paid it in full so I'm very blessed and lucky to have them both :) I'll pay for alterations veil and accessories myself haven't chose any as yet xx
