Posted this in another thread, but some ideas for finding bargain dresses:-
For good value dresses, keep an eye out for sample sales at bridal shops, especially at the end of a season, or alternatively if you have an Oxfam Bridal store near you, they stock alot of dresses that have only ever been worn once on a cat walk for a fashion show or similar, usually at around 75% off.
Another trick is to try out bridesmaids dresses - some of them are lovely but a fraction of the cost of a wedding dress, and you can usually get them almost any colour you want including ivory. Also check out shops doing prom dresses and evening gowns.
Of course there is always places like ebay, gumtree and the like too.
my dress was £1200 but i got it for £562 including them holding it for a year and all alterations! didn't think tht was too bad of a bargain!

Gem maggie sottero dresses are lush so I guess you expect to pay that for them.... If I could afford one id have one but I cant... Remember its alot of money but your only gonna do this once so why not treat yourself x

Dress was 725, the underskirt was 120 but I got her to price match a website for 55, and alterations I won't know until end April but so far it only needs taking in at the bust which is about 35. The veil I got online for 46 (instead of 145 from the shop) and my shoes I got for 211 instead of 249 :-)

Mine is £1000 without alterations or the hooped petticoat, then add veil, shoes, tiara!!! Oops lol oh well I only plan on doing it once hopefully!!! Didn't mind so much paying a lot for mine but the bridesmaids ones I wish I had maybe gotten a bit cheaper!!! X
