I'm sure someone's asked this question before, but how much is everyone paying for make-up for the wedding day?

All the quotes I've had in range between £200-£300, and the one that I like the best at the moment is £280 with a trial for myself, trials for my 3 bridesmaids (inc MOH), make up for us all on the day, and some lipgloss and sparkles for our little flower girl. It would be £205 without trials for the girls...

I am also trying to find out if the Benefit counter in my local Debenhams will be able to do our make-up as I love their products and I know someone who had theirs done by them. What does everyone think though - is that very expensive or about right? The quote I like the best, I looked through her portfolio and the pictures are exactly how I want to look - fresh-faced, girly and natural looking so I'm pretty sure she's who I want to go with! X

You sound pretty convinced you want her so if the price is right go for it, treat yourself its your big day. I'm gunna do my own my budget just wont stretch that far unfortunaltely

My hair is free as my sis is a hair dresser and paying £80 for my make up inc trial £205 total inc my 4 bridesmaids xx

my make up is about £210 for my trail, moh trail and make up on the day for us both plus a little make up for my 13 year old daughter and will also include eye lash and touch up bag for me. check about travel expenses cos they are add on extra in most cases unless you live close. hair is about 300 i think for mine maid of honour plus trails and my 3 daughters to.

I had no idea it costs that much either.
My first wedding my cousins did it all, as one is a hairdresser, flower arranger and cake decorater, the other is a beutician.

THis time round we are doing it ourselves. We do have a hairdresser in the family but they want to charge us to do it! Which i think a bit of a cheek to be honest, we suggested it was done in place of buying a gift. but they want about £150 so we arent going with that. I know people need to make money but thought we could have got it cheaper or free, just for the two of us.

So doing our own hair and make up here

For my hair, the people I wanted to use quoted me £305 for a trial for me, then my hair, 3 bridesmaids and one flower girl on the day. That includes them charging me an extra £40 to travel the 1 mile from their salon to my MIL's house where we're getting ready. I don't think so!!! I'm hoping my normal hairdresser (who is the only person in the world I trust with my hair) will do it for me, but she doesn't normally do wedding hair. I don't want anything elaborate - it's all so expensive!! X

I paid £300 in total for hair and make up - just for me!
I didn't realise til after where I paid for trial and on the day, and hair and make up separately..... oooops!

I had no idea what was the norm and when I told h2b the prices I was shocked and expected him to be dead against me paying over £200 but he just said 'that's ok isn't it?' So I made the most of that and booked!

I'm paying £235 for me, my mum and my moh.

Even though I never thought i'd pay that, I'm actually quite happy to now. I'd hate to look at my pics and not be happy with them. I'm a bit self conscious and could never do my hair or make up well enough so if she can make me look like a princess for one day i'd be made up! (excuse the pun!) x

thats why I'm happy to pay smarties i hate having my photos taken and hate seeing pictures of myself so i hope with i know my hair and makeup is looking good then i will feel happier and more confident fingers crossed it works xx i did my own makeup for my first wedding and wasnt happy with it ruined the whole day for me cos i felt crap in myself.

im a hairdresser myself so my boss is doing My hair, 3 bridesmaids my mums and grandmas hair all for free inc my trial (which wil have saved about 350), ill be doing my bridesmaids trials and just telling her how i want it:) i think my makeup is £65 inc trial and im payinh £50 for nails and spray tan:) xx

I am doing my own make-up because I've done it everyday for the last 18 odd years and I don't like it any other way. But I'm good with make-up and was going to be a make-up artist at one point in my life.

I'm also good with hair and was very happy to do my own hair but a hair stylist friend has offered help for me and the bms and I'm gladly taking her help so it's ofc less stressful and a good laugh! I've offered favours and handmade goodies in exchange.

I am lucky in the fact that the girls that done my sister-in-laws wedding back in Sept are willing to do mine and all my bridal party for the same price ..

Shop around you will find someone who will want the work and be willing to down their price xx
