Is it for going to an approved venue, like a hotel? If so, its about right. If you get married in a registry office it is usually cheaper.

Ours cost £1,500 but thats cos its in a tudor mansion and you have to pay nearly double for the registrar to come out to do it and the costs of hiring the venue which I still think is wrong surely all weddings should be priced at the same to actually conduct as whats different to warrant the extra money x

Our chapel do not charge although couples would normally given a token payment to the priest for carrying out the service! I will have to pay for the legal documents/certificate but dont think thats too dear! x

The registrar's fees vary massively depending on where you live :( Then there may well be an extra charge for the room hire of an approved venue..

But the cost for giving notice I think is the same everywhere - £33 or thereabouts for this tax year.

My registrar is costing £385 thats for a friday, and it was £60 for our public notices. Our venue is charging £300 for room hire but that is for one room for the ceremony and then another room for the reception and evening do that has its own bar and everything in. I dont know how I managed to get it for that much because the brochure price is £800.
