    Hello! :)

I'm having an afternoon wedding- at 3pm so skipping the sit down meal and just having a buffet in the evening. I'm inviting approx 130 to the evening do so I was wondering how many should I do food for? The venue have stated that there isn't a minimum that we have to feed and I'm on a tight budget. I want to feed people but don't want to end up with loads of leftover food. Any help would be much appreciated! :) x

I may be wrong, I never sorted anything like that, but it might be 75% of the full numbers you cater for.

If it's the only food your having I'd definitely cater for everyone. We are catering for about 75% at night but we are having a full sit down meal earlier.

I agree with Danielle, as it is the only food you are providing I would cater for all of them 90% minimum. We aren't catering for everyone on the evening but we are having a 3 course meal earlier so I know some people wont want to eat.

I also agree with Danielle. If you were having food for your day guests before the evening buffet then I would cater for about 80% of them, as it would be unlikely that your day guests would eat a lot as they'd still be stuffed. However because it is the only food you are providing, everyone should be hungry and should eat quite a but, so I'd cater for 100%. It's better to have too much than too little.

I also agree with the girls above - we've got a sit down meal which will be feeding 50 people then there's about 130 for the evening do so were catering for 100. If there going to be there from 3pm all evening I'd def cater for all.

I'd cater for everyone especially if you're skipping the meal.

We're kind of lucky we're having a BBQ evening buffet so there's plenty for everyone and no leftovers.

We're having a sit down meal at 3pm so only catering for about 50% of the day time guests for the evening (and obviously everyone who is attending the evening only)

I didnt know that you didnt have to cater for everyone at the evening do. ... We will be having a 3 course dinner then a hog roast buffet but our venue has based this on the max number of guests that will be attending. :-/
We are not having any additional guests for our evening do either we are having 60-70 guests for both day and eve so all would have the wedding breakfast.
Do i say something to the venue?! Sorry for jumping on your post but i had no idea of this!!
