    Hi,

I am making confetti cones to fill with rose petals. Planning on having 110 for the ceremony, do I make a cone for each person?? I know that people normally bring their own confetti, but I wanted to put the roses to use that have taken over my garden for once!! My OH thinks I should make enough for 1/4 of the people to have one but I suspect he is just being tight!! x x

I would say make 40, most people will share one anyway and most of the older generation will come with their own xx

If there cheap and easy enough to make, I would say its better to have too much than not enough.

I'm making 1 for each female guest. How do you know how much of the rose petals to order? My ceremoy is for 60 people and I am making 35 cones but not sure how much petals I will need xx

Izzy, I wouldnt assume that people will bring their own confetti - we only had 2 people bring their own and it was so bloomin windy, we didnt even throw it.

Depending on how large the cones are you are planning on making I would put maybe a handful for each person (so 110 handfuls) in cones even if there are 3 handfuls to a cone :) x

Thanks ladies! Thinking it is easier to make more than I would possibly need (rose petals are free and will come in bright red/pink, pale pink and white curtosy of my garden.....) Now just to battle the cold and go and dead head the blighters so they bloom next year! :-)

Most venues dont allow certain confetti now so Ive told my guests to save their money and I will provide the sort that is allowed!
I'm having mini cones made out of paper dollies with black card and lace which will have red delphine confetti in.
Ive ordered 5 ltrs for 60-70 cones .....one per person!

Once it's dried it'll not go off, so if you end up with too much I think home-made confetti after your wedding, it would be lovely to give to someone else you may know who is getting wed after you?
Hardly anyone took the petal confetti my mum made for hers - they all had handbag/cardigan/jacket in one hand, drink in the other... With it being a shared venue it wasn't ideal for ladies to leave handbags unattended while doing the photos, and it was a warm day so extra layers came off... Just something to consider x

Izzy - be aware that you will need to dry far more petals than you think. I had a go at drying petals earlier this year thinking i'd do it for the wedding next year. I did tons but because it shrinks up so much what I had thought was going to be loads ended up being one or two handfuls! Too big a task for me. Good luck with it! xxx

Thanks for the warning Lizzy! I have 5 50 yr old rose bushes in my garden that are still flowering now..... I'd hope I'll be able to make enough, but I have a back up plan of buying extra from the bay of e..... How did you dry it? I've heard that you can microwave it and then leave in a warm room for a few days.... Have tried it, but wodered if there are better ways of doing it? x
