We are on a package of 50 for the reception and 100 for the evening do.Any guests over this number have to be paid for seperately,if we have less than this number then in theory we are paying for people uneccessarily. How many would you invite to ensure that all the seats are filled but that we don't end up having to pay for loads of extra people? In an ideal world we would of course invite 50 and 100 but of course there are always going to be some rejections aren't there? xxx

If you initially invited just 50 people for the day, could you bump up some of your evening invites later if anyone says no, to make up your 50?

I'm with Emma, we're sending our first lot of invites out now with a 2 week rsvp attached so that if there are any rejections we can reassign and the 2nd lot going out won't feel that they have been left out as it'll still be 3 months before the wedding!

Hope that make sense? sounded easier to understand in my head, lol x

If you send out your invites early and ask for a quick rsvp, then you could invite more people if there are any who can't make it. xx

Thanks ladies i think we have 55 on our 'must have them there list' .Four of them live abroad and have indicated already that they are almost definitely not going to be able to come-so thats 51 really .I will send the day invites out nice and early and if i get any rejections i can send out invites to my reserves before i send out my evening invitations! xxx

We have 38 for the day and are inviting another 100 for the evening. The day guests are just family and very close friends and the evening is for other family members and friends from work and neighbours. We are restricted to numbers for the day as the venue only holds 40 so luckily people have been very understanding. x

It's great to say i get married this year September 1st 2012
