Mine are getting a drink (Pimms or orange juice) on arrival, half a bottle roughly of wine and something to toast. They know where the bar is if they are thirsty.

Mine have an arrival drink of their choice (I think it's a choice of pimms, wine, orange juce, non-alcoholic cocktail and house cocktail) then 2 glasses of wine with the meal and a glass or champagne for the toasts.
And after the meal, they can get their own, it's pub prices in a posh hotel so no one can grumble.. win/win :) x

I don't there is any expectation nowadays. I've been to a few weddings recently and they've varied from free bar all day/night to pay bar and everything in between.

We chose to spend less on the food so had a buffet rather than a sit down meal which meant we could have welcome drinks then free bar and wine on the tables until about 9.30 for 120 guests.

    It's completely up to you.

I was thinking about sending out evening invitations with a drinks ticket or two in each one, you can get them specially printed to look like theatre tickets/raffle tickets/casino tickets now. Look quite good. But might add a lot to my drinks budget. Still not sure if I need to buy them all a drink or just give them food....

We're doing Pimms and fruit punch on arrival and that's it. Ross doesn't like wine or bubbly so we cut the champagne toast, though I AM going to have a few sneaky bottles for the wedding party :)
The way I figure it is that it's mine and Ross' day and to thank the guests for coming they get fed, will probably end up with favours and have a good disco put on for them, we're not paying for them to get sozzled too! However, our reception is at the local rugby club so that means cheap beers :) xxx

NONE! There is a bar in the hotel for the wedding in florida so they can pay for their own lol.
Same with the party when we get back.

I think the whole day (or 2 including the party when we get back) is costing enough without paying for ppls drinks which 9outta 10 ppl dont drink anyway. This way they can get what they like. lol

Weddings cost enough without you putting on a free bar if people choose to drink then they choose to pay the prices fair enough If I was loaded I would gladly put on a free bar for my guests infact I would love to do it but the truth is we are not loaded and the wedding has cost enough so my guest will get

Glass of Champagne or choice of drink on arrival
Half a bottle of House wine with meal
A glass of champagne or choice of drinks for the toast
