    Hi Ladies,

Okay, I've just taken delivery of a stunning pair of R@chel S1mpson shoes - have tried them on and they are comfortable, although will need breaking in a little bit as can see they may hurt with prolonged wear and I am not used to wearing heels.

Now, here is my dilemma - I am only 5ft tall and my OH is just under 6ft. I am not sure whether these shoes are going to be high enough - 2.6 inches and whether I need to be looking at something with a higher heel as worried the dress won't flow so well with shorter heels. I've been looking at shoes for ages, saw these, fell in love, but my other concern is the coloured part of the show is more gold than silver and not sure it will go with my dress, although I know you won't really see this.

I just want everything to be 100% perfect and wondered what high heel height you were all going for and whether I should send these lovely shoes back or keep them - know it's a personal choice, but .... argh!!!

Here's the shoes and my dress so you know what I am talking about!!!

I wore flats as I never wear heels. It's much more important that you are comfortable, and feel secure in your shoes. I had to wear heels once as a bridesmaid and I was terrified of the walk down the aisle. I wouldn't worry about the height difference, no one will pay attention to it.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

First of all I wouldn't worry about the height difference between you and your OH - you have the height difference there every day and that is part of who you are individually and as a couple, it doesn't make it any different just because it's your wedding day! I wouldn't go for anything too high if you're not used to wearing heels as your comfort is more important than how they will look underneath your dress. If you love them then keep them - remember any alterations will be done based around your shoes, underwear etc, so it will still look fab xx

Agree with Elinor that you need to be comfortable in what ever you choose. My shoes are only 2 - 2.5 inches high.

They are lovely shoes and practical with the bow on them too. I cant really tell the colour difference to be honest. may be my monitor but they seem silvery to me.

I agree with the others. The height difference shouldn't matter, my SIL is well under 5ft and her husband is over 6ft, they looked absolutely fine next to each other.

The shoes are lovely and think they will go lovely with your dress.

    Gorgeous shoes!

Glad you're keeping them. Your dress can be altered to the right height for your shoes. And You'll feel fabulous on the day once you've got your full bridal thing going.

I'd advise anyone not used to heels to buy back up flats though. I changed to flats in the evening, barely noticeable. My dress just flared out a bit more on the floor.

I only had a small heel also as not used to heels all day, my feet did ache and I was glad I opted for the flats too (really cheap white lace dolly shoes)

Definitely go with comfort over anything else - one of my friends got married wearing her high top trainers - no one noticed under her gorgeous ball gown dress!

Both at lovely. I think it's important to still look like you on your wedding day, if you go wearing 4inch heels then this won't be like 'you', if that makes sense
