There's no right and wrong. We got together in March 2012 so we will have been together two and a half years. Some people are together for ten years plus, and others for a year or less. It depends on the circumstances that you're in when you meet, and how soon you're ready to settle down.

My OH and I will have been together just a few months shy of 10 years when we get married whereas my sister was with her husband for just over a year and a half. Everyone is different.

We got together October 2009, he proposed May 2011 (my 21st birthday), and getting married September 2015. Nearly 6 years when we get married :). I knew straight away he was the one for me :). The only reason the wedding has been so long coming is because we lived 170 miles away from each other until April last year.

My h2b and i got together 15 years ago, we have been engaged for 13 of those, we have had 2 beautiful children, aged 9 and 11 in this time, we will have been together for 16 years by the time we get married :) (15/05/2015)
we cant wait we have waited a long time for this day and so have our friends and family, who have constantly badgered us at every family gathering, yay! its finally gonna happen :) and the best bit is we get to share our special day with our beautiful children too!

Our wedding day will be 10 years to the day of our first date! We moved in together after less than a month!
We just knew...haven't looked back since.
We wanted to marry sooner but there was always something else to think about. My mum got sick, then passed away young (52).
My best friend passed away young a year later (31), I was made redundant the year after that, 2 more years of struggling to get back on track financially, then after my boy (a cat but my boy none the less) got sick with a disease called FIP I almost bankrupted us paying for his treatment.... There was always a reason to not think about a wedding.

We met in April 2009, I moved to Scotland in the July. Like people have said you just know. My OH proposed in 2010 almost a year to the day we met. We will have been together 6 and a half years by the time we get married. Our little boy will be 2 when we get married. The twins will be 7 and a half and the oldest will be 10 and 3/4 xxx

We met in June 2006 and got engaged a year later, Now seven years later we have set our wedding date for next July. We will be together just over nine years when we get married. We would have been married years ago only we were young and poor. I still had to finish school but it meant I could get a great little job that will help us pay for our dream day! It feels like I have had to wait forever for our day so next year can't come quick enough lol

Like people have already said, there is no right and wrong, whenever you feel ready is the right time but that will be different for everyone!
Me and my h2b had been together for a year when we got engaged and we moved in together a few weeks later. We had been together for almost 3 and a half years before we booked our wedding which was only a couple of months ago. When we get married we will have been together for nearly 5 and a half years x

we got engaged after being together 3 n half years by the time we get married we will have been together 8 and half years... i was only 19 when we first met so was too young to be getting married and only had such a long engagement due t having a child and not being able to afford a wedding everyone is different and if it feels right then maybe it is however i also believe you need a good amount of time to actually get to know the person before you decide to spend the rest of your life with them xx

Lovely to here all these stories, and makes me feel better that other people aren't rushing either, as I had some family who kept asking me when the wedding was going to be over and over. Me and H2B met in 2008, got engaged Jan 2013 and will have been together over 8 years when we get married in 2016. We haven't got an exact date yet but looks like it will be early May 2016 were looking at venues at the moment :D xx

We do have a child together after 3 years - Jacob wasn't planned - but he was a blessing as now theres a chance we may never be able to have another. We got together after knowing eachother for 5 months and we got engaged when we were together for 7 months :). When we get married, we'll be together for 3 years! My partner's parents got married within a year of meeting eachother, too, so there isn't really a time limit of when you should and shouldn't be married by!

There's no right or wrong time my parents were engaged after four weeks and married after seven months they've been happily married for thirty five years now :D I had been with my partner for just over seven years when he asked me to marry him we will have been together almost nine years when we marry :D
