We got engaged after being together for 2 years, when we get married we will have been together for 7 years on the day! I don't think there is any right or wrong time to get engaged or married, so long as you both feel happy with each other and you both think that the other person is definitely who you want to spend the rest of your days with then it is completely fine. I remember when me and my h2b first got together, it was the April before my 18th and his 21st, my parents weren't too keen on the idea of me dating somebody who is 3 years older than me and just went on the fallacy that it was a crush and I would "get over it". As the months went on and they were finding it increasingly difficult to separate us both they finally realised that it wasn't just a crush. They were both happy when my h2b asked them permission to get married and are both over the moon now that wedding preparations have begun, they both love our wedding venue and have said they just wish that it was happening sooner. H2b's parents have always been happy that we are together and again just wish we were getting married sooner x

Met my husband on a chat site before I even start college so about 14-15 years old, fell in love with him and him me, we exchanged numbers and contacted each other every day and talked almost all day everyday. (We pretty much consider that when we got together because there was no one else for us but each other.) We waited and eventually when I needed to move out my grandparents I told him and he offered for me to move in, I accepted instantly. Once I moved in we ended up kissing during a movie and getting together that very day I moved in and that was 3-4 years ago, this valentine's day we'll have been together for 10 years and by the time we marry we'll have been together 13 years. Doesn't feel like that long, still feels like yesterday I came across my amazing scottish guy :) and most kept telling us at the start that it was just a crush and would pass, they were so wrong lol. His family love me and mine love him and none of us can wait for the wedding day :) just would love if money weren't such a problem so we could marry sooner but ah well it's worth the wait.

I got together with my better half in Nov 2008 at the age of 16. He moved in with me and my family after 7 months because of a family situation on his side. We had our Son in April 2011 and got engaged Christmas day 2011. We marry in November 2014, 6 years from our first date :) The majority of people always said we would never last after he moved in and we have proved them wrong! We know we are perfect for each other and that's all that matters.. There's no right or wrong way to decide on a time to marry as long as you's love each other then that is what counts :) x

We got together 16.09.13, he proposed exactly one year later, at the airport, just before I get my flight back to Brazil. We're gonna live completely apart for one year, and I'm supposed to go back to UK next September. We are planning to get married as soon as I finish Uni and my Masters, so, much probably September 2017. Can I say that we are gonna be together for 4 years when you get married?! lol
By the way, I think it's never too early or too late. It must be when both are ready.
