    Hi everyone!
me and the other half are getting married on the 6th July next year. we were supposed to be getting married in church but after some long thinking and the h2b just telling me now that he doesnt feel comfortable in church we are booking a registrar to come out to our venue instead!

Does anyone know how long a marriage ceremony lasts? daft old me forgot to ask the registrar lol

It depends if you have any readings I think. I know it's shorter than a church service would have been because of the hymns etc in church.
I went to a wedding in the summer and the ceremony only lasted about 15/20 minutes xx

Ours was 20 minutes, BUT we decided to opt out of readings etc, if you have someone doing readings, and IF your marriage lines are longer, then it could be more like 30-40 minutes, but we had the most basic marriage lines where we didnt repeat much, just said 'yes' 'i do' and 'i am' in places.....

When we went to see our registrar they said the service can be anywhere from 5 mins for just the basic bits up to 25 mins which includes 2 readings and a candle ceremony x

If you're having readings etc then it'll probably last around 20 to 30 minutes. We were witnesses to a wedding without them though, and that only lasted 10 to 15 minutes.
