    Hello peeps!

Well, we are getting married at eleven o'clock in the morning, which seemed fine when I booked it all.

However, it occurs to me that it's going to be rather a flap, maybe.

I plan to stay at the venue the night before which should help with timing, and I know I need to factor in a short (well, hopefully short!) meeting with the registrar before the actual ceremony takes place.

Also, the photographer will be doing some preparation shots, too.

How long will it take to get ready? I am planning a corset style dress (lace up) that will probably need an underskirt, and of course hair and makeup will need to be done....my bms are doing there own (as it stands, unless we do better with the budget than planned) and the venue is fairly close to there house so can probably come at least part ready.

Am I going to have to get up at like four o'clock in the morning to get ready?!

I am getting married at 1pm (will be leaving for the church at 12.40pm)I will be up by 7am having a leisurely bath and breakfast, my hairdresser is coming at 9.30am so my hair should be done by 10.30am at which point i will do my makeup.i am hoping to start getting into my dress between 11.15am and 11.30am to be ready for photos with parents etc by 12pm. I think you will probably need to have a pretty early start with your hairdresser there for 7.30am ish but i am sure you won't be sleeping anyway so its achievable with planning xxx

I am now thinking the same, however i am getting married at 10:30am. but need to leave the hotel at 9:30am as 40mins travelling time haha... having 2/3 hairdressers though as there is me and 5bms and my mum all need hair and makeup doing.. but i am considering just me and having my makeup done....
Already spoke to one hairdresser and they said they would be at the hotel for 6am!!!

Eek! I am glad we don't have the travelling time to factor in. Was looking forward to a long soak in the bath before the wedding but that will probably have to be ethe night before with a shower in the morning xx

yep... i couldnt justify spending thousands of pounds on afternoon hense the 10:30am wedding, then trust me to choose a venue 40mins drive away for a 7min boat ride... hmm am now tempting to go on the boat but a bit apprehensive about it.
It will be worth it though.
Im having a bath the night before too laura and then quick shower in the morning.

Looking at the venue proposed plan off the day:-

'the ivy bar will be open from ten am for your guests to use. We would usually expect your groom to arrive around this time to welcome the guests....'

Lol he is so going to be worded that he is NOT propping up the bar for the hour before the ceromony!

Our wedding is at 12.30pm, have to be at the venue at 12.20pm, but am staying in a hotel over the road, so that good, however reading all your times, your make-up artist and hairstylist are all turning up hours before your wedding, mine has told me she will be at the hotel at 10.45am, thats only giving them both an hour, as I'll need the other half hour to get into my lace up dress and underskirt. I'm worried is't not enough time?? Do you think I should ring them and ask them to come earlier?

I haven't booked anything yet as it's a while off, but you've got me worried about timings.
I thought my make up at about 10:30 my hair about 11. My mum's hair after while BM's are getting me into dress. BM's are doing their own hair and make up.
    Ceremony at 1pm.
    Is this realistic?

Yeah I was thinking I wouldnt even need to start getting ready til like, nine o'clock.

Halebob, I think it will depend on what time you need to set off to reach your venue. It looks ok to me but I just don't know how long everything will take...I don't want to be say waiting around bored but I also don't want to be on a major flap the morning of the wedding. Xx

My sister stayed at the venue she got married in. Her wedding was at 2:00pm. We had our hair and make up start at 10:30am which for 3 of us (Bride and 2 x BM's) took approx 2 hours. We then just chilled out for a bit in one of our rooms, at 1om we all got into our dresses and had photos of us and our mum and dad. Then once my BIL was safely in the ceremony room just before 2pm we came down, my sister saw the registrar and then the show begun!

If you don't need as much chill out time as we had you'll be fine to start getting ready probably at 8am for hair and makeup if you're staying at the venue the night before and only need to walk downstairs to the ceremony room xx

You won't need to be up too early. We didn't get married til 2.45pm, but we didn't start doing the hair and make up til around 1pm. I stayed in the hotel about a 5 minute drive from the wedding venue. I showered about 12.15pm, the hairdresser came at 1pm (had mine and one bm to do) then we did our own makeup. I got my dress on after that (around 2pm ish) and I left with my dad about 2.35pm or so.

As long as your bm's are doing their own hair and makeup then just concentrate on yourself. As for the dress - I didn't want to put mine on too early just in case I creased it or got anything on it lol.

Ooh that sounds more like it. I have no doubt I will be up at stupid o'clock anyway (I'm rubbish at sleeping, ESP when I'm excited! )

But it's nice to know I hopefully won't be panicking about running out of time on the day xx

I would suggest that you assume everything takes a bit longer than expected - that way you won't end up rushing and panicking! (lol, can you tell I'm a project manager?)

My wedding ceremony is at 1pm and the hair stylist is appearing at 8.45am to do my hair and 2 bridesmaids. travel is less than 5 minutes but I'm planning for 15 minutes as it always takes longer than expected, plus I'm guessing it can take a while to get me in the car with my dress.

As a guide for getting into your wedding dress, think of how long it took in the shop when you had your fitting. I know you had the assistant helping there, but you'll have bm's or someone else helping on the day.

I think you also have to bear in mind that everyone approaches 'getting ready' differently.I have friends who cannot get ready for a night out in less than 3 hrs and others who can do 'the works' in under 30mins. I personally do not like to rush ,i will enjoy the processs of getting my hair and makeup done and my dress on (a bit like opening a fancy present but in reverse-i always take the paper off really slowly and carefully) i will then probbly twirl and swish and preen for a good 30 mins- i did not spend over a grand on a dress just to chuck it on and go lol! I intend to enjoy every minute of the day and this preparation time,to me, is part of it.
So if you are like me then factor in loads of time to get ready however if that kind of approach would drive you mad and you would rather go at it at full throttle then do it xxx
