Hi there everyone, I'm new to the forum :-) got engaged in May & getting married in December this year. I went straight out and chose my dress which I love (ordered it the last weekend in May), but they said it could take up to 6 months to arrive...that takes me right up to a week before my wedding date.
In your experience, how long did your dress take to arrive, or how long did the bridal shop say it would take? I'm quite relaxed about most things, but this is making me panic! X x x

Hi i paid my deposit december last year but i didn't have to get measured for my dress until end of march this year and my dress came into the shop last week so about 4 months to wait x

it should take approx 6 months however, some can rush it thorough quicker.

they can lie about your wedding date too. Even though I ordered mine early, they put my date a month before it actually was to ensure it got here in plenty of time. Remember you need fittings etc too so you need a good week or so.

I was told 16 to 20 weeks but it actually took 6 months. Luckily I ordered it 16 months before we got married.

I think on average they take 6 months, especially during peak times (summer weddings). A rush job can be ordered at extra cost. Don't feel pushy hun, call the shop and speak to them, it is like you say rather important ;)
I'm sure they will help you and they must be sure they'll get it in on time for your wedding if you gave them your wedding date. Sometimes though they do come in sooner, call the shop so that they can put your mind at ease xx

mine was ordered beginning of february and it came on thursday last week giving me 5 weeks
it really shouldn't arrive the week before its usually 4-6 weeks before your day so they have time for the alterations, ring them with your concerns as they can sometimes put a rush order on it
