    Hey everyone,

I dont have a huge amount of weight to lose, just about 20 pounds or so at the most. I want to be as slim as I can for the day but I am not too sure when I should start. I am getting married mid June next year and I worry if I start now that I'll give up and put it back on. Or should I start now and just try to change my lifestyle. I havent been eating healthily for a while and feel like I should just start now.

When are all you guys starting your diets?

i started in January, but having an operation i can not pass 13st 3ibs its doing my nugget in. I dont mind but i dont eat crap and i go to fitness classes 3 times a week and do 20mile on my excercise bike everyday. Managed to put my fitting off till Sept to try and lose some weight. I reckon if i had my boobs removed it would knock 6 stone off !!! they are so huge it does my head in !!

Mrs Mcleish2B - thats the date I am getting married tooo!!! I reckon I am going to start today but I dont know how to go about it. If I count everything I eat, I become obsessed and then after like 2 weeks I go on a massive binge. If I dont count then I panic and worry that I am eating too much. I am tempted to just buy healthy food and make sure I start exercising more. The thing is, I could lose a stone by June by cutting about 300 calories a day - which isnt bad but I would need to count. ugggg. So confused. I hate dieting so much!

I have no will power whatsoever......but I want to look my absolute best for my wedding day!

    Wahoooo!!! Hows the planning going?

Have a look at the WW diet its not as bad as it was before it basically promotes healthy eating. I've restarted today....... Dont you find when you tell yourself your on a diet your hungrier than you have EVER been before lol. Soup is the best invention for me I make my own homemade soup and it curbs my hunger cravings..... Just takes effort to make which today I'm lacking lol

Planning isnt going too badly, venue booked, photographer, car, humanist, bms flowers, cake and decorations all done! :-) Still a few more things to do - bms dresses (picked not bought), my dress, invitaions, rings etc. But Im loving it :-)

    Hows planning going for you?

Is this the pro point diet thing? whats the difference? I used to quite enjoy ww cos you could still do it on a budget - fruit and veg can be really expensive.

WOW your organised lol I'm not as good as you - Just booked Church, Rev, Venue and now sorting bar hire and caterers lol now I'm scared I'm seriously behind! Lol

Pro Points is the new one - points are works out on Carbs, Protein, Fibre and Total Fat. The old system was calories and sat fat. Sooooo the theory behind it is everything is pointed on how quickly your body burns it down. Where as a banana used to be 2 points and a curly wurly choc bar was 2 NOW a banana is Zero points and a curly wurly is 3. Promoting a healthy diet and 'filling foods' - Seriously I should work for WW lol. Veg and fruit are now zero points so its loads easier than before.

Hey that sounds good! I could do that. So if I go to a meeting do they give you all the stuff to do it? I dont think I could keep going to classes but if I knew how to follow the plan I could stick to that. How many propoints do you get? I totally like the sound of that!

aww dont worry you're not behind, we have managed to get a free photographer and a a free car (same guy who is a close friend of scotts family) and the decorations I've been figuring out and ordering at work and I bought the bms bouquets from bay of e - they are wooden roses, I love them. So we arent really that far ahead - still got loads of important stuff to do. We have opened our honeymoon savings account yet :-/ been meaning to do that for for about 6 weeks, must do it tonight........

Yeah if you go to the class you get all the books and they'll go through it with you, I was surprised I didnt think I could go to the classes but the leader is adorable and she's the only person who keeps me on the straight and narrow. I definetly couldn't do it alone because I'm useless and have no willpower lol.

I'm just hoping this month we can get loads done because Cal (H2B) is in the army and is on LOADS of courses between now and xmas and then Jan Kenya for 6 weeks so this month is the only chance I have his input. Really not ideal lol xxxx

That means you can choose most of it though lol. I've chosen most of the stuff with just a quick: me - "is that ok" h2b - "yeah great" hahaha. I like the fun side of it, Ive given him the ring, documents, humanist and kilts to sort out. Everything else is me lol.

Still havent chosen favours or done a playlist yet though :-/

I think I might give it a go! It sounds better than the other plan - I could happily munch away on fruit and veg if I could have a wee treat here and there. Do you know if there is anywhere online where they explain the propoints plan?

I have two years to go but have started this weekend eating better. I decided against Slimming World or any other plan as I find them too restrictive and complicated when we go out at weekends. Instead now I am using an app I downloaded for my ipod touch which tells you the amount of calories you need to lose weight and how much you burn through exercise too. It's making me think about what I'm eating but I'm not obsessive about it.

Ideally I want to shift two stone by next summer, more would be fab

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

Hey Li3yy how does the app your using work? I was on a calorie counting diet earlier in the year and found it great but it was hard to count every single thing, like sugar in tea and stuff (i hate sweetener lol)

Hi Petra I get married in May next year and have 21lbs to lose so I've just joined slimming world. I have lost 6lb so far (4 weeks) and find the diet really easy to do. I thought about starting now so I don't have a last minute panic next year. Also figured that if I hit my target weight this year and put a little on for Christmas then that will be all I have to worry about next year x

You eat unlimited fruit, veg, potatoes, rice, lean meat and pasta and have one healthy calcium food (ie milk or cheese) and one healthy fibre food (ie bread or ryvita) per day. You then allow yourself 5-15 syns a day which can include alcohol, crisps etc. You can't ever be hungry cos there is so much "free" food to eat. I have a bacon sandwich for breakfast, pasta for lunch and jacket potato and chilli for tea and use 3 syns in total. If you go with your mum then you have extra support as well x

yeah they do give you a guide and explain it all to you as well. You are allowed bread in your healthy fibre allowance but only a certain amount and anything over that is a syn but not a daft amount so you can easily budget it into your daily allowance x

I went out last night and got plenty of healthy food in :-) So going to give it a proper try this time. I used to be thin and never had to worry but since we've lived together, weight slowly crept on and my clothes got too tight and I am fed up with it. I want to have a killer bod for the honeymoon too ;-) Just need to stop myself eating choc as much as I do :-/

Petra I know exactly what you mean. I used to be a small size 10 until I moved in with Chris and put on over 3 stone. I have since lost the weight only to find some of it again that's why I am back on slimming world. I don't want to be super small again but want to get back into my size 10 skinny jeans and a purple dress I own (and look good in a bikini on honeymoon). I read another post of yours about your body shape change and the aquiring of new assets and I have had the same. The good thing is as I have lost weight previously and am losing it again now mine have stayed which H2B loves. My body shape has changed but I now have hips and t1ts! xx

ooooooh, Maybe mine wont shrink either, I really hope so cos at my skinniest I was a small 10 and I had a very small handful lol. How did you find slimming world? I am thinking if I do a lot of cardio I am likely to lose my chest but if I diet and tone I might be ok?

Does anyone know of a website where you can find a typical daily allowance for slimming world?

I find it really easy to do and am combining it with exercise as I have the Great North Run to do next month. They say the allowance is whatever you need between 5-15 syns and you can vary it day to day. Then eat as many "free foods" as you like. Have a look on ebay cos there are always people selling old books etc and you can use that for your examples. x
