Ladies, With the good old British weather playing games yet again how are you going to prepare yourself if on the morning of your Wedding it's not as you pictured. I will be totally gutted if it rains on my day as like the rest of you I'm sure you would be as well. The best day of a couples lives ( apart from the birth of their child) is all planned in a meticulous way from the last hair piece to those amazing photo's which we so long to have perfectly. If it was to rain heavy where would you have your photo's taken? Oh god I'm really worried about this now

I would prefer it not to rain as the venues lawn and out door areas are fab. However, we picked an amazing venue where there is unlimited photo opportunities due to the architecture etc. Plus we would be unlucky if in Aug it rained all day. Normally it rains in dribs and drabs.

we've got inside photo opportunities too but thought I'd see what the weather forcast is long term for the wedding and poss by some funky black/white wellies for the bridesmaid and some black/white umberellas to get some fun shots outside too x
We went to Vegas LOL! No, seriously, when we got back we had a London blessing in the park. It was raining the whole week up to it and I was worried, but thought that there was nothing i could do about it so there was no point worrying or getting upset about it. Then on the Sat morning, i got up and opened the curtains to brilliant sunshine! Our back up plan was to go to our reception venue which was a quirky restaurant across the road from the park. We were so, so lucky with the weather - at both of our weddings LOL!
Vegas baby!

Ha Mrscarter2b I love that idea sounds funky. My first wedding was in August and out of the 6 of us that attended the church services every week our day was the only sunny one as the fortnight before and after ours it poured down. Our venue has amazing rooms and plenty of photo opportunities but the church hasn't. I also really want to visit my step-fathers grave after the service to place a rose which I can only do if weather is good.

Our venue has zero in door photo ops, I really hope it doesn't rain, but will have a big heart shaped umbrella on stand by.

Try not to worry about it, as we can't control the weather unfortunately. I really don't want rain, but i have an indoor wedding and we will be taking those big golf umbrellas just in case :) I really want sun though, as my church has stunning grounds for the photos and also i don't want my dress/hair to get wet lol xx

Although our wedding is going to be in August, weather was a concern and was partly why we chose our venue, which doesn't have any grounds, but which is absolutely beautiful inside.
If the weather is good, the plan is for me, my BMs and parents to all walk from our reception venue (where we're staying the night before and getting ready) to the ceremony venue (about 3 mins walk), have some pictures taken in the public park opposite our venue, but most taken inside, and have the drinks reception in the courtyard garden at our reception venue.
If the weather is bad, the plan is to take a taxi to the ceremony venue, pay for taxis for our guests (or provide umbrellas) from the ceremony to the reception, have all our photos inside, and have our drinks reception in a beautiful room inside.
We're very fortunate and have completely exclusive use of our venue, so have a lot of flexibility. And it is seriously really beautiful; I think the pictures taken inside are going to be gorgeous :-)

lol me too. oh god im having a marquee :( its the end of june 2013 im hoping that it will be ok :S worried now xx

Barbie we to have exclusive use of the Castle so therefore plenty of rooms and it's absolutely gorgeous. We have planned if weather is good to have a chill out time on the lawns after the wedding breakfast and to have the photographer walk around taking random pics of the guests relaxing. Have not planned at all for bad weather

We got married last August and it rained on the day. We got married at 2.45pm but it had been raining on and off all morning, so we couldn't have any pics done on the grassed areas outside. It drizzled on the way to the venue as well but we managed a few pics outside after the ceremony as it stopped for a little while.
Our venue was gorgeous though (Gretna Hall at Gretna Green) and had some great rooms for photos to be taken so we were lucky. In fact if it had been sunny we wouldn't have got the opportunity to tour the venue and get the pics we did.
Outside there was a giant, wooden gazebo in the grounds so we could have a lot of pics taken there as well (and all the guests fitted in there as well for the group shots).

Fingers crossed for sunshine for all of us, but I'm buying brollies just in case! Luckily our venue has some lovely spaces inside for pictures, but I'm just hoping for sunshine 'cos I really want some pictures outside in the grounds too.

I would perfer SNOW on my wedding day as this is my favourite time of the year hense my getting married in november hehehe I have planned for all weathers tho and have red wellies and umbrella for me and white umbrellas for the bridesmaids. and also have a black lace parasol for the sun for me and white ones for the bridemaids. The groom has black wellies and sunglasses hehehe
As for photo's if your hiring a professional they will go round the venue before the day to source out the best locations in and outside for all weathers! I'm sure they will be quite acustomed to a bit of rain so don't worry they know what they are doing!

I refuse to worry about the weather. For my peace of mind i will assume that the weather will be awfull and plan accordingly,i will have a bag of brollys and have boots for the ceremony so that my shoes do not get ruined. Our day is all indooors except for getting from the Church to the venue. If the weather is good then we will be able to use the venues gardens but if not we will stay inside and get the venue to light roaring fires xxx

We were planning on having a marquee but have changed our minds now as we are getting married in October and it does get a little chilly in the evening so everything is indoors, however, I would like it if it did not rain on the day as the gardens and surrounding area of my venue are gorgeous. I don't mind if it is not blazing sunshine but it would be nice so people can mingle outside whilst the room is getting ready.

We booked a venue that was just as gorgeous inside as the grounds are outside. Of course outside pictures would be better, but I plan to have some taken inside anyway regardless of what the weather is like because its just so lovely. if it rains, then it just means that all the pics will be inside.....
I can resist anything but temptation

I would never plan for good weather in this country. I would always assume the worst then anything nicer is a bonus! Haha! My venue has no outside space, i'm not a country/gardeny/meadows person! I'm getting married in the city centre. I definitely want a pic with the Liver Building in the background and we can do that in the gardens of the church next to our hotel. I have an ivory brolly so if it rains we can still run out for a pic. I'll plan for all my pictures to be taken inside as I like the hotel's rooms but if the weather is glorious then we can have some outside as a bonus.

it was raining a little bit on my wedding. we had most of our pictures in the church and then the photographer set up a studio at our reception. we managed to get a couple outside after the meal though

if it rained in cyprus, i would cry!!! hahaha!!
i'm in scotland, so rain is pretty much expected. although i know it's something we can't control, it would put me on a slight downer.
a HUGE downpour could be quite cool. i love really heavy, BIG rain which comes with a storm. take away the wind and i think that sort of weather would be amazing!! haha. imagine all the guests looking like drowned rats, make up falling down faces etc could look quite arty
but the rainy, blowy crap we get up here...urgh!!

My cousin got married last August and it rained all day. The vicar told them not to be disheartened as rain is God's confetti which I thought was a lovely thing to say and now I have to admit, if it does rain on my big day I'll probably have a little smile to myself. The main thing is that both h2b and I get to the alter in one piece and get to say "I do". Our venue doesn't have great photo opportunities indoors but I'm sure we'll make the most of a bad situation. The way to look at it girlies is as a first obstacle in a happy healthy marriage. x
