h2b godmother makes amazing cakes and has agreed to make it for us but we havnt met up with her and disscussed it or thought of any idea's

Id get on it asap if i were you! ive already been in touch with a cakey lady who is designing mine and im not getting married til the end of next year lol (im over organised i think though)

My MOH is mine and she's been practising forever lol! Maybe a few months or so. And is going to all these decorating classes. Definitely better to have discussions sooner than later, even if its from someone you know, so that if she does need to change anything from her nromal recipe (ie for dietary reasons) or learn something new (a specific decoration you like) then she has plenty of time to sort it and she can organise her schedule etc.

I get married end of May and only this week met up with my cake lady ( a friend of mine and H2B doing to as our wedding gift) this week, we sat down over food and drinks and designed our cake. x

I think I ordered a cake with 3 months to go. But I only started planning my wedding about 6 months before. X x

We ordered ours about 6 months before the wedding - but we didn't get it locally (we're in Leeds and found the cake in Blackpool) and the cake maker was very busy as he takes orders from all over the country.

I would do it sooner rather than later, then you know it has been organised and you don't have to worry. Plus it gives plenty of time to practice your design. xx

I'm finally going to get mine sorted this week. My friends mum is a tutor at college teaching cake decorating and has agreed to make my cake. I've been trying to sort my cake out tho for a few week but not getting chance but been promised this week for def :)

I ordered mine a few weeks ago, when there was 6months to go. i was very lucky to get booked with that lady though cos she was booked up and had a cancellation.

We paid our deposit last year for our cake & when we got our confirmation letter, the lady said she would recommend seeing us in January 2014 to give her our final ideas etc, so that's 6 months before xx
